Washington Mutual Bank in efforts to collect a debt in the State of California, although an original creditor, is in violation pursuant to State of California Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, to wit, Rosenthal Act under California Civil Code Section 1788 et seq., by making repeated unsolicited telephone calls, whereby causing the phone to ring repeatedly and not engaging in conversation with the recipient of the call.

I started getting calls from a few unknown numbers after submitting my resume to job postings on Craigslist. I have a suspicion that they were fakes set up to get info from people because I'm getting calls from these unknown numbers at both the numbers I provided on my resume. We need to stop these fake calls!

WAMU's out of country call centers are using unallowed collector and/or sales practices.  They are using false caller ID information in an attempt to get people to answer their phone.

I have received several calls from them recently and they all come from numbers that merely have a state listed as the caller ID - Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, etc.  When the phone is answered with the business name they disconnect or do not leave a message.

Phishing scam

They have been contacting me, several times a day, without leaving a message one.

My phone number is on the do-not-call list. Is there any way to report this to some authoritative body?

This is WAMU. They are being extremely shady. I get them often, I don't pick them up any longer, no one is ever there.

My boss's husband is in the military--he got hurt in Afganastan.  She went to Germany where he's being taken care of.  I get phone calls several times a day from all these weird numbers looking for either her or her husband--WHO DOES NOT WORK HERE (duh).  I keep telling them that she has taken a leave of absense for the rest of the year and that the husband doesn't work here and never has and I have none of his info and even if I did, I wouldn't give it out!  And they keep calling.

I continue to get calls from 4125959025,4142140359,9543770257 (Pennsylvania, Wisconsin & Florida).  They call at all hours and never leave a message.  Is there anything we can do about this?

i do not have a Washington Mutual Accounts but this number keeps calling my house.

Ever since i was only 2 weeks past due they call me everyday twic a day.
They use different phone Numbers ..When I did answer they were people with an accent like from India etc. saying that they need money immediately to pay the Credit Card and making threats....They added all kinds of penalty charges up to 90.00/Month and then doubled my Interest Rate and didnt want to hear if I am having Finacial Problems...They didnt make any efferts to work with me..Now they just harrass me all the time....So I have caller ID and dont answer unless I know who it is...Dont talk to them....Otherwise they will trap you in your words.

I do believe this is WAMU then.  412 is Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area code.  Thats weird because I used to live there and now I live in Texas so I almost picked up.  Im late on my payment so they dont take there time.

WAMU called, I'm not passed due at all and they have called me a couple times with various Caller ID numbers. I called back and the Agent doesn't know why I've been called. This is getting very annoying.

I have received a number of calls from the above number.  They leave blank messages on my answering service or they ask for someone I do not know.

It is NOT Wamu. It is a phishing scam using the WAMU name because chances are, most people have a wamu account. They have left a message telling me to go to their website, "Wamucanhelp.com". However, wamu only runs the website wamu.com, not wamucanhelp.com. They also emailed me in regards to an account with a differnt #, and using my married name. My only wamu account I have is under my maiden name. It's a phishing scam to try and get your information for identity theft. That is all it is. When you get a phone call from "wamu", hang up, call wamu and report it. Simple.

I do not have WaMu account, and getting calls. I tried calling back this number and got a message saying it didn't exist. I think this is a phishing scam! BEWARE!!!!

I think I've been called by all these numbers perporting to be WAMU. What I think is that some third-party group is using WAMU's name to harrass people. That would account for them calling people from different numbers all over the country, calling people who don't even have WAMU accounts and using out-of-country "call centers" which come up as nonexistent numbers when you try to call back. I think this has "phishing scam" written all over it. Consider that when WAMU (or any other bank or financial company) actually has legitimate business with you, they generally also contact you by mail. I've had no mail from these people other than the bills.

i got a call from 412-595-9025 and no one was on the other end if they were they did not talk, i wish they would stop calling.

They have been calling for over a week asking for an individual. I told them several times there was so such person here. Since they ignored me, I started jerking them around by saying things like "he owes me money too, how much does he owe you". The answer was always that they could not discuss it with me. This morning I told them for probably the 3rd or 4th time that there is no such person here.

If they continue to call, I will figure ways to take up more of their time and jerk them around even more.

They are calling my cell phone.
