I got a call in Manitoba, asked for mr ...... smith.... ( our name) and i asked who's calling.... and they hung up.... ??????

I got the same call in Manitoba...asked for (all I heard was my last name)...then he was quiet...I said hello...he hung up.    ????

Just got off the phone with RBC to report this exact same thing. Guy with East Indian accent said he was from Visa/Mastercard (guess he didn't know they are two different companies) and with my expiration date he would send me a 'Holiday Package."  Total SCAM!!!!

got a call from 412-923-4565 said hello and of course no one there...then a young guy in an East indian accent says hello and asks how I was doing.  I replied I was awful and what the hell did he want.  He then went on a ramp about how I sounded like I was white and F%$# me and called me every name under the sun swearing his head off the whole time.  No big deal ...until he started to tell me about things he was going to do to my wife and my daughter in a very descriptive manner.  

This pushed me over the edge as I have a very young daughter.  Now I know he was just trying to get under my skin but man oh man.  I hung up and called the # back and an operator came on and said I could not complete the call.  

This kind of crap has got to stop!!

just got a call from an east indian guy asking if i use visa then he just hung up

Had that same call from an east indian dude saying I won a holiday package and needed my three digit security code from the back of my visa.
He said he worked for Visa at their head office. I asked to speak to his manager. The manager identified himself as James Anderson (though clearly he was of east indian decent) and repeatedly asked for the three digits all the while my wife was on her cell phone with Visa feeding all the info to them. I got a 888 call back for him but eventually ended up just hanging up.

I live in Dauphin, Manitoba, Canada and I received a call from this number.  Whomever placed the call hung up the phone as soon as I said "Hello".  I've received several calls, but not this number from the Visa Mastercard centre.  To which I started laughing at him and hung up the phone.

I live in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada.  I just received a call from (412) 923-4165 which I believe to be out of Carnegie, PA.  I said, "Hello," and then there was a long pause and the caller hung up.  Glad to have read this string of reports about the caller.  I will follow through with reporting the unwanted calls to try and identify who is doing this.

I answered the call from this number 412-923-4565;  after a hesitation, a soft male voice answered and said my name, so I asked who was calling and he said "your son".  I hung up.

I JUST got a call from this number, and there was an East Indian guy on the line (as I see reoccurs many times for this number). He asked me how I was, listed off my home address, my telephone number, and my last name. When I asked him who specifically he was calling (i.e. first name) He gave me his name, his father and mother's names, and asked me if I was alone.  He then started asking me if I was married and stuff so I yelled at him "I don't know who you are, so I'm hanging up,". I was extremely scared, I stood looking out my window for 10 minutes to make sure no one was going to try to break in, since I figured it could be a cell phone and this person could be scouting out my house. Seriously, who asks if someone is alone at home? TWICE!?

I just got one of these calls too.  He wouldn't say what it is he was calling about.  He knew my name and address also and when I said I was busy and to get to the point he started talking about calling back later and coming to my house and that I was a beautiful woman.  He would not transfer me to a supervisor (said he owned the company) and he didn't seem to understand when I said I was going to call the police.  He repeated what I said like he was looking up that statement to see what it meant.  I'd really like to know how he got all that info and how to stop it.

I've had numerous calls from this number & others with a couple different last 2 digits (4165, etc),  It is always an east indian man calling & says hes from Visa & that they have a "promotional interest rate" or something with an "offer" for me... The first call I ever received I hung up after he said T-D bank & I said I don't deal with TD, & he called right back saying "why did you hang up... etc, I never said I was from TD, etc." and still asking me qns... then he told me my address & that creeped me right out!  I'm thinking they're calling out of the phone book to have my last name & address.  I had a lengthy conversation with him telling him I didn't believe him & listening to his lame excuses as to why I should believe him. Finally I told him to never call back again & he finally didn't call back.  
I've since then had 2 more calls from them & each time I tell them to Never Call Back... but that obviously doesn't happen!  It is a total SCAM & they are trying to call back to get more info each time I believe!  Scary!!!
I called VISA & they told me that they don't ever call around promoting interest rates or anything like that, they have us contact them for anything we may need.  
I'm really annoyed with continuously getting calls from them & want it to stop NOW!  Don't know what to do at this point.  I'm going to try contacting my phone company & seeing if I can trace the calls or log them in the system somehow so they can look into these As&*%e scammers!!

last night NOv 2, 2010 I got a call from a girl with an accent and she called me by name.  there was a lot of background noise and I could hardly hear her.  So I hung up

Nov 3, 2010 My husband answered the phone and some guy with an accent started to talk but my husband could not hear him or understand him.  There was a lot of background noise also.  We hung up.

Not sure who this is, but they called my Winnipeg, MB # and they hung up.

This is a scam, Do not talk to them.

Just received a phone call from this number.  I also live in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  He never directed us by name, but knew what our address, postal code & city stating we had won a trip for 4 people for free.  He said he was calling on behalf of Visa/Mastercard.  When we told him we did not have a Visa or Mastercard, (which we do have) we got off the phone with him.  He had a East Indian Accent and his name was Eric, from reading other posts I guess there is either more than one or he likes to switch it up.

I did call the number back and as well was unable to have the call completed.  We like to play with people like this, but does freak me out that he knew our address etc..... However he did never addressedus by name.

Don't be freaked out. Pick out anyone from the phone book, call them, read their listing back to them and tell them you're from Visa/Mastercard. They're cold-calling victims.

My boyfriend got a call from a similar number, last digits were 4505, except the guy was saying something about adding a huge amount of airmiles to his account (we don't even have airmiles) & getting a "complimentary trip to Florida". His number is a cell, & not listed, so not sure what that was about, he hung up while the guy was still talking,
