Received this call, and the caller knew me by name, which isn't actually Anon. He then said he was Lawrence from "Osh Kosh."

Just got a call from the same 413 # but I didn't answer it. We must be on some sort of potential "sucker" list or something. A couple of weeks ago I got a call (unkown #) from a guy named Jimmy who was clearly in India saying he was with A nyc law firm and that I had been scammed in the past and I was entitled to lots of money if I'd just give him my checking account # he'd put the money right in it for me. I played around with Jimmy until he hung up on me. Did your caller have an Indian accent?

called left no message this phone number keeps calling about 2 times a month.  With other calls I say 'service' which confuses most people until they start talking I say 'I am a service for this number you can not get the person who owns the line due to I am payed to answer and screen calls due to a potential investigation.'  that usually makes them take me off thier list etc.

got this call on my caller id..won't ever answer if it calls any more now that I read these other posts...

I keep getting calls from this person or persons from this exact number almost every day. i recently moved so I signed up for the "do not call" list again and it should be taking effect soon. I can't wait. (413)497-4480 and (800)399-5166 call me almost every day but never say anything if I pick up. I'm just not gonna hold back anymore; I'm gonna let them have it with every vulgarity I can conjure up from my youth in South Boston the next time they call me!

Got a call today from "Oshgosh" asking for a donation.  This is just a terrible scam. Can you imagine, these people should be ashamed of themselves? They said the money will go towards the VFW.

they left a weird message on my answering machine.  a good minute or so of nothing, then like a "cough/clear throat", then they hung up.  very bizarre!

This number calls 2-3 times a day. No one answers when phone is picked up. So we let the kids talk hahaha... no kidding I push the pound key till they hang up it kinda fun LOL

I receive a phone call from this number often but I don't pick it up and they do not leave a message.  Reading reports from other people validates the fact that we really should not answer phone calls from numbers we do not recognize

I didn't answer this call when it came in.  When I saw it on my caller ID, I called it back and got an automated recording for the VFW national HQ. who said they called trying to soicit a donation.

I am getting calls everyday from 413-497-4480 on my Caller I.D., but no messages are left.  It says it's "Ware, MA".  I don't know anybody from there.

I received a call from 413-497-4480.  They asked for me by first name.  It reads "ware" on the caller ID.  I won't be answering calls from that number any more!

I received a call from this number. When I asked who was calling they said, "tell him the VFW called" and hung up. This happened on Labor Day and NO government agency works on Labor Day! They knew my husband's name, but he is not a veteran. I called back and added my number to their do not call list. However, the call-back number they gave was different than the one someone else in this message string had to call. I had to call 800-785-4595. When I called the 413 number, the message said something like, "due to phone company trouble, you cannot reach this number... won't you try again at a later time..." What a crock. I'm betting the do not call number they gave is a crock too.

for fun I picked up and said nothing and put phone on 'speaker phone' and left it... no one spoke and eventually the line cleared.

that's one line they couldn't use.  if everyone did this, they would eventually have no available lines to make outbound calls.

When I posted info about call this AM from 888-875-4520, I found it is the same scam as this number when someone actually talks with them.

I receive multiple calls from this number on a daily basis.  I don't answer the phone if I don't recognize name/number, but it's still a huge  pain in the a**.  Gotta LOVE caller ID!!  Does anyone remember in the "old days" when you got a call of a "questionable nature" you were told to blow a whistle into the phone??  That sounds like fun!!!

I receive many calls from this place, also.  Yeah, we must all be on some list of potential people to scam.  Too bad we can't find out where they are so we can all pay them a visit.  (Nothing like a good mob scene!)

I think I'll either get myself a whistle or just press the star key until they hang up.

Yeah. got a call from these guys and they claimed they were from some veterans association and that we've given them money in the past.  Bull!

The strange thing is they knew how to say my last name properly, which is rare indeed.  Makes me wonder how well they know us.
