Bothered - 29 Jan 2008Got a call yesterday from Rausch, Strum, Israel & Hornick asking for a person that doesn't live here. When I asked who were they, he hung up. Today a little after 9:00 a.m. PST got another call. This time I let my answering machine pick up, but all it recorded was a loud noise. My caller ID saw who was calling, so didn't pick up.

slp - 22 Apr 2008Caller asked to speak to my spouse and I asked what it was in regards to. She said the call was personal, but if I gave her the last four digits of the social security number, she could tell me. I told her that I asked the police about giving out parts of ss#'s, and the police said NEVER give out your SS# or even parts! I asked her what city she was calling and she would not give me that info either. I'm sure this is some kind of scam, ID theft, or something we want no part of!

Trinity - 9 May 2008I've been getting calls from this same phone number. When I answer they hang up. The weird thing is I live in Milwaukee but my area code is (920) on my cell phone number. Not sure how they got my number.

Ryan - 24 Jul 2008Mike, be careful--if they buy an old debt, you DO owe them money if the original debt was legitimate and they purchased it legitimately. Also, in my case, they did not buy old debts, but they were HIRED by two different collection agencies that had accounts of mine. I have been fighting debt collectors for almost 6 years now, and the only time I have ever been taken to small claims court was by Rausch, Sturm, Israel, and Hornick. Yes, they actually filed a case and I received a summons to court from the courthouse.
