False irs phone call

threat we owe money to the IRS say they are arresting my husband!!!!!  FAKE FAKE FAKE!!!
Tell them to call someone who cares!!!

just got a automated call saying i owed the IRS. i called them back and they threatened to send a sheriff to my house to arrest me if i didn't give them my SS# so i got a hold of my lawyer. bring it..

Recording saying they were the IRS and I needed to call them back immediately or they will take action against me... Haha

he said they were the irs officers and that they were coming to take me to jail in 45 minutes .

Garbled obvious Robo-voice "This is Mrs Smith from Internal Revenue Service. Again, the hotline to my division is 415-230-0477, I repeat 415-230-0477. Don't disregard this message and do return the call before we take any action against you. Goodbye and take care." lol yeah, that's a legitimate call from the IRS

Something should be done about these ridiculous IRS calls.

Don't answer unknown numbers in any way and you'll do your part. No kind of answer, hear nothing but a ringing phone--kryptonite for scammers.

I assume you realize these are fraudulent calls and most of them are coming from India, Pakistan, the Caribbean and other places out of the country.  Report them and warn everyone you know who has a phone to avoid them like the plague.  Check previous posts in the forum section here by BigA and Tamianth, for example.
