Said Julie Smith IRS, Called back could not understand person claiming to be with IRS

SCAM - the IRS mails letters.  It appears they have moved to another area code.

Received a call claiming to be irs. Called them back,  foreign accent with other phones ringing in the background.  They hung up.

Received a call claiming to the IRS investigative department and wanted me to take a number and provided a case number to call his manager due to miscalculation of a tax refund.  It was an obvious scam.  I did not take the bait but there are many who are not aware that IRS does not make phone calls but send official letter.

I have been receiving multiple robo-calls claiming to be Julie Smith from the IRS. Gives an extension to contact her and says they will take action against me if I do not contact her.  Same number every time.  Finally redialed the number and got a foreign Indian accent saying it is the Investigation Division of the Internal Revenue Service.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Got a call from 415-234-9490. Said it was Julie Smith from San Francisco Internal Revenue Service. Left a voice mail they would take action against me if I didn't call them back.  Hope they all get arrested.

Same automated message definitely a scam.

Received 2 calls from this number yesterday but no message then today called again and got the automated message Julie from IRS

Just got a call and message left was from irs tried to call back but no luck. Would love to have a long chat with these morons and occupy their time. That is what you do when you get old you call the 800 numbers to have someone to talk to.

IRS telephone scam number sounds foreign like  India - 415-234-9490

Received a phone call automated "Julie Smith" from 415/234-9490 this morning.  When I called to get info since all my taxes are actually paid ahead this year - caller ("Ann Smith")demanded the name and contact info for my attorney and when I said I needed proof that this wasn't a scam since the IRS had not sent any certified letters out they became sarcastic and hung up on me.  Tried to call back about 10 times before they would answer.  Finally got another guy, "Rupert", and he was laughing and knew I had talked to someone already.  He read the same "screen" as the one before and said the same speel.  When I told him to put his supervisor on the phone, he said that I had called a wrong number after 10 minutes of conversation and then hung up again.  He then called five times after that but wouldn't speak.  Just wanted to hang up on me five more times!!!!!  I reported this number as well as 929/800-2845(from three days ago) on the IRS scam site.  Let's shut these suckers down!!!!!!!

Got numerous calls from those suckers but very obvious those calls were scams. Same message from somebody Julie Smith and their accents sounds like they're from India. Thank u all from the info..

I've had 3 calls from this number, all with voice mail for Julie Smith.  I called them back and asked them to remove my number as I was on the DNC list.  I was told for $1,000.00 they would remove my number.  When I questioned that, they hung up on me.

Received 2 messages today on my answering machine telling me I need to call Officer Julie Smith. When I called the number 1-415-234-9490 a woman told me that we owed the IRS $18,000.00 and that I needed to pay it right now or they would put a warrent out for my husband's arrest for tax fraud.I told them I would call them back. I googled the number and found this website. I then called them back and told them that I spoke to the IRS and my lawyer and that they were a scam. The man said" Oops, wrong number" and hung up on me. I will be reporting them to the IRS scam department. Thank you for the above posts for a quick answer on who was calling me

Same thing as everyone else is stating. I couldn't even listen to this crap so I hung up. Hope they don't get any suckers!

Same message from a robotic voice. Called twice. Claimed to be IRS.
