Says they are from the IRS

Left a message saying they are from IRS, said their name is Smith, "you must call back before we take action" "good bye and take care"! First off, IRS NEVER MAKES CALLS, and when would they ever say "take care"! I would like to "TAKE CARE" of them!

Yeah...got a recorded message saying it was the IRS and an urgent message and to not ignore it.  Gave an "agents" name but I don't remember it.

Sounds fake.  I'm tempted to call the number and see what they might want to scam out of me.

Left a message this morning through T-Mobile 805-MESSAGE (805-637-7243) Line, saying "this is Officer Judy Smith from IRS, "there is serious issue" "call 415-234-9863" "you must call back before we take action" "do not ignore this call" "good bye and take care"! NEVER KNEW IRS MAKING CALLS, and ENDING WITH "GOOD-BYE AND TAKE CARE"

Received a recorded message from Julie (Smith?) from the IRS.  Do not disregard this call and call back to avoid further action.  Number referenced was 415-234-9863.  Weird.  I am on the Do Not Call registry.  Why do we get all these calls?

I got a call and when picked up the phone, Voice message started as below;
"This call is from IRS, you must call back before we take action, do not ignore this call"

When called back, it went to Voice Mail directly.

Friday, Jan 9,2015 received 2 calls from this number today.  Thinking it is some kind of scam.  IRS officer Julie Smith, bogus and I'm ignoring this scam

I notified the local police about this call I received.  This is most likely a scam, and the persons who are most likely to respond are seniors.  It may be useful to call your local newspaper.  They may post it in the paper so that people are aware of it.

Recording saying they were IRS and to contact Officer Julie Smith.  Called back and they hang ip.

Saturday 1/10/15 received two calls from this number, one at 0930 and another at 1335.  The message left after the second call was, "This is officer Julie Smith from the IRS ..... then a disconnect.  Since when does the IRS make calls on the weekend.  After looking at the other comments, I can only assume this is a scam.  Reporting it to the authorities.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Just received a message from this "Judy" Smith (or Julie. I could hardly understand her.) on the answering machine. I called the number, since I was confused about why she would want to take immediate action against me. But it went directly to voice mail. No name, no company, just "This is voice mail. Leave a message." After reading all of these comments, I would have to agree -- because IRS does not call on the weekend. Also 415 is a California exchange. Why would it be calling Florida?

This number have been calling me for the last 3 days one message was left. When I finally answer I heard a recording it stated this is IRS I need to call them back before they take action against me.I was at work so I hung up and called back when I was home  the call went straight to voicemail several times oh yes at the end of the message it said" take care".

I ALSO RECEIVED SAME CALL TODAY JULIE SMITH - 415 234 9863 WITH SAME MESSAGE. I COULDN'T UNDERSTAND HER ON VOICE MAIL. REPORTED TO LOCAL POLICE DEPT AND TOLD THAT THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING.JUST IGNORE IT.

Today I received four identical calls from "Julie Smith" of the "IRS" stating that "there is serious issue" and that I need to call "415-234-9863" and further that "you must call back before we take action" being warned to "not ignore this call". Further the compassionate and fake IRS representative signed off with, "good bye and take care".

Today I received a phone call message from a Julie Smith regarding a legal issue with the I.R.S and I was not to ignore the call. So when I had gotten off of work I called the number ( 1-415-234-9863 ) and someone answered with only my phone information wanting to assist me in procuring a Lawyer. When I had asked them if they knew the kind of work I was involved in they didn't have any response to it. So with that said I then revealed that I am an employee of the local government here in Florida. Immediately the gentlemen on the other end who addressed himself as Julie's superior hung up on me. I then tried to reestablish contact 3 more times and was hung up on each time. ITS A SCAM AND REPORT IT IMMEDIATELY!      

IRS  said need to call asap before action is taken against us and we will have to get an attorney.   They have called twice once super early in the morning and left messages.  I called back just because....The call was answered by someone with a thick  accent.....Just called again and it goes to a voice mail......I understand the IRS would not call but send a registered letter of some kind.  Is that correct

This us a scam - is not the IRS so just ignore & block if you can.
