- krisz| 1 replyI did to stating that they are from the IRS.
- FL_ResidentA robotic-like voice saying this is officer Heather from IRS saying to call back the issue is "extremely time sensitive" and we need to talk " before we take any legal allegations against you." The voice and English seem to be off and weird. Poor choice of words too. The number is also originating from 415-251-8453 under the company name of Ymax Comms Corp.
-------------------
This is probably a telephone scam. Read the following from the IRS website. It was published on 4/14/2014.

- BeachbumI received a call from this number this morning April 18, 2014. It was a robotic voice stating that I had a time sensitive issue and needed to call a number. It was stated from the IRS. I figured it was a scam as I had already filed my return and received it back.
- julianaI also received a call from that number today with a fake robot voice telling me I or my attorney should call back immediately before legal action is taken against me.
- tonyI also got a call from this number this morning and the guy did have an Indian accent, threatening to take legal action ... after calling back the guy seemed very confused, and I said "is this a scam or what" ... and he actually said yes! And I hung up.
- JoeIRS officer Heather called so I returned the call. A man with a foreign accent said Office Heather is not hear can I help you. He said I will be arrested for back taxes and I needed $6,048,00 today and he would tell me once I hand the money how to pay the IRS because they don't take credit cards or debit cards. Stating, there is to much forgery with them. I told him I don't have that kind of money and he said "can you give us $ 300.00 to hold off the arrest warrant & prosecution until we can settle this". "No money do I have", I said. Than he told me to call back today when I have the money ready or I will be arrested tomorrow. " THIS IS A SCAM" Caller ID 415-251-8453 the number left to call back 415-251-8000 ext 141. The numbers are listed under the company name of Ymax Comms Corp. see: http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Reiterate ... -Telephone-Scam
- Caller: IRS (Officer Heather)
- JCI received a robotic-like call from 415-251-8453 from "Heather". I called 2x. The first time, some guy answered, asked me for my lawyer's name so he could send him the legal documents from the IRS detailing the suit against me. When I told him I had no clue what he was talking about - he hung up on me. So - I called back again. This time, a woman answered and was very detailed that the IRS was suing me for income tax fraud and basically read me my Miranda rights. I told her I had no idea what she was talking about. She said 2 certified letters had been mailed to me from the IRS and I would have to prove that I didn't get them and then hung up on me. I called my accountant - who confirmed this was a scam.
- ArleneI also recieved a call saying it was an officer Heather of the IRS. So I called back and a man with a foreign voice. He said he would only talk to my husband. I told him he would have to talk to me because I do all of our business including IRS business . I also said the IRS would send a letter with any information and I get a lot of scam phone calls. He then hung up on me.
- JohnThe IRS site (that Joe helpfully linked) also states:
"If you get a phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS, here’s what you should do:
* If you know you OWE taxes or you think you might owe taxes, call the IRS at 1.800.829.1040. The IRS employees at that line can help you with a payment issue, if there really is such an issue.
* If you know you DON'T OWE taxes or have no reason to think that you owe any taxes (for example, you’ve never received a bill or the caller made some bogus threats as described above), then call and report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 1.800.366.4484.
* If you’ve been targeted by this scam, you should also contact the Federal Trade Commission and use their “FTC Complaint Assistant” at FTC.gov. Please add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments of your complaint."- Caller: ?
- TeacherSame thing--Woman claimed to be from IRS, and I should return the call immediately.

- TRS- from SD replies to kriszWe just receive that robotic voice at this phone number too. We have never not filed nor do we owe them any money. I am sure it is a telephone scam & I deleted their voicemail.
- StayhomemomThis just happened to me today they called my sons phone asked for me then told him he would be put on no call list. I called it they said there spill about attorney and then read this spill to me how a warrent would be issued tomorrow for my arrest and that I would go and stay in jail if I couldn't make bail. After he was done reading I told him I haven't worked and I am on Ssi disability he then asked for the last 4 digits of my social like a dummy I gave it to him not knowing he then said that I was the wrong person same name. I then called my husband and told him what happen he said its a scam it's been all over the radio in the Bay Area. He then told me to call the local police and report it so I did. The officer was very nice about it told me that it has happened to a couple of people in our town and they gave them Money. One went as far as dressing up like an officer in a unmarked car and going to the persons work. I am appauled at this.
- Houston areaAlso received a call from a computer generated female voice with the same exact message. I listened, but did not respond and then hung up the phone. I will report to IRS and FTC as scammers.
- Caller: Officer Heather
- JennThe only thing I can add to the above is that the first time the number called (8:46am) I made no noises to trigger the automatic play. After 20 seconds of dead air, it hung up. The second time (11:25am) the odd-ball iRobot stilted voice message reiterated many times above began to play before I could make (or not make) any sound.
- Joe WilsonSame thing as all the rest of the posts. The funny thing is that I had figured out that this was a scam - they really turn up the heat and tell you that there is a warrant for you arrest, that you will go to jail, have your passport cancelled and on and on. It was the same guy from Pakistan or somewhere in South East Asia. Not sure where they got my mobile number from as they called on that.
Rather than call it for a scam I listened to their whole "speech" about the gates of hell opening up due to the fact that they have reviewed my "wage income" and that "you have miscalculated your taxes due". That you are going to prison right away and will be there for 5 years with killers and rapists!!!!
When he was done, he asked if I had any questions: I asked him: "What was the first thing that you said again" and he hung up.

- FeelingSillyI got the same robotic-like phone call stating it was an Officer Heather from IRS saying to call back and that the issue was "extremely time sensitive" and "to not disregard this message". So, like a fool, I called back. The person answering identified herself as Anna. I should have suspected something when she asked for my phone number to identify myself so she could help me. She went on to say that she was going to read me something, not to interrupt her and that I could ask questions after she was done. That I owed them $6873 for violation of tax code (none given), tax fraud for unpaid taxes and something about Earned Income Credits, etc. I was entitled to an attorney, but that a sherrif would come to arrest me tomorrow and I'd be taken to court right away to press charges. I could make bail then or resolve the case by paying this amount now or if it went to court that I'd owe up to $18,463. I could have my attorney present after I'm arrested, at the courthouse. I asked why I hadn't received anything in the mail. She said that they had sent me something by registered mail and posted a notice on my door because no one was home at the time. They could not leave the documents because it was private. Since I've failed respond, that is why I was being arrested. She could not answer more. I said I needed time and I'd have to call someone. She said that I had 45 mins to resolve the case or the sherrif will come to arrest me in the morning to bring me to tax court. I called my husband and told him what happen and he said it was a scam. His client, a tax lawyer, told me that this was a scam also and to call the IRS and the local police department to report all this, which I did... just left voicemail. I noticed that the IRS has posted something on their site about fraud.... not specific to this, though.
- Bako Tax GuyI just had a client call me on this matter threatening a law suit for tax fraud. This is a strait client that likes to be forthright in reporting so I know it's BS. It also circumvents IRS standard procedure: you'd be bombarded by mail long before this kind of action.
Found this thread when searching for the number given. Thanks to Joe for the link to the IRS website: http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Reiterate ... -Telephone-Scam.
Take the time to register the complaint or it won't get shut down. "All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to sit back and do nothing." -Edmund Burke - Barbi SquiresGot the same robotic message for *aka* officer Heater from IRS... 415-251-8453 wanting me or my attorney to return her call ASAP ! Defiantly a SCAM !!! NOT FROM IRS......
- Caller: Claims to be IRS
- Call type: Debt collector
- nd1| 2 repliesWe got a call. Did not answer. They said that it is from IRS. It is a scam.
- Mountain ViewI received the same automated voice message from "Officer Heather" from the IRS stating that the issue is "extremely time sensitive", and we need to talk before they "take any legal allegations against" me. I called the number 415-251-8453, and received a voice message stating that the mail box was full and to call back later. Sounds like a scam.
