- confidential| 4 repliesReceived a call from a person with heavy accent from India, saying that I have an IRS violation on tax Fraud, and that I will go to jail if I don't pay
- RickyT replies to confidential| 1 replyI got one too. I'm afraid to call the number. Did you also get a ref #?
- Cant Fool MeMy wife received a call from a "Zach Thomas" saying we needed to call 415-251-8504 asking for our lawyers number for Michael Carter, When i got on the phone they hung on me. I called this number back consistently for 30 min after they hung up on me and they kept hanging up. They finally stayed on the line and i called the IRS Treasury inspector general while they were on the line with me and all i could do was leave a message on that number. I kept it on speakerphone so they could hear me leaving the message and afterwards they hung up. I called back again and spoke to another person "Alex" after several minutes of going back and forth I was able to get his real indian name and when i asked why he told me alex he said it was his pseudo name, i asked why he was lying and saying they were the IRS and he said it was his job, I asked what call center he was calling from in India and he denied it and stated they were in San Fran. So to say the least this is a scam dont fall for it. I had fun for an hour bugging them though.

I yelled at him " You Scammer".. - Alma CookeI received a call from this number from people claiming to be IRS employees saying there was some sort of miscalculation in the system in which I owed them over $6000 and I would be arrested the following day if I wouldn't comply.
- ScammersYes I received a call from this number from Alex Thomas with an heavy ancient , which he claim to be working for the IRS & I was involved in a Tax Fraud for over the past 6 yrs and will have to owe over $6,000 . Once I told him this year was my first year filing my taxes, he hung up in my face. So I constantly called back no answer

- So Cal| 1 replyJust got call from this number - caller id - IGNACIO CA. Same story - heavy Indian accent - hard to understand - some kind of legal issue with IRS. - so cal replies to confidential| 1 replySame here. They wouldn't answer my questions, but that I had to call back to Michael Carter of the IRS at 415-251-8504 and they even gave me a claim number. And then I thought, it's Saturday morning. No IRS office is open on Saturday. They said the IRS openned a lawsuit against me because of false deductions. I don't think the IRS sues. They drag you in and they can garnish your wages, but they don't open lawsuits (I could be wrong on this)
- Slim replies to So CalThere is a fairly common IRS or "tax scam" being practiced by scammers in both Canada and the USA.
USA tax payers should read this:
http://www.irs.gov/uac/Tax-Scams-Consumer-Alerts
Note particularly the links at that site, warning of the scam!
A shorter explanation is Scam #11, as shown at
http://phonehelp.2truth.com/facts.html
That site also shows how other 800notes visitors have reduced the number of telephone scams and telemarketing calls they receive. (And, a link to Amazon's phone blocker devices and apps is there). - Aoeu12345http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/video/single-larges ... laylist=1363340
Saw the above a few nights ago warning about tax scams. Got two this morning from this number. Be warned, people. - Brenda J Alftin| 1 replyDo not want this scammer calling my phone again!! They've hung up on me once, but continue to harass.
- Call type: Debt collector
- WenI also received a call from 415 251 8504, the caller has a very heavy accent. I ran the message at least 10 times before I understand a little what he was talking about. Claimed that he is from IRS litigation department and very urgent and time sensitive. He said I have to call before a legal action will take place. His name is Thomas. I called the number and he gave me a reference #. He said because of tax miscalculation for the last 6 years, I owe IRS $4000 thousand something dollars. He said I disregarded the notice from IRS once in January and again in February. I told him I did not received anything from IRS. He said if I don' t have to pay, the sheriff will arrest me tommorow. That was a threat. I called IRS hotline 800 908-4490, and asked if there were notices sent to my address or if I owe anything. IRS said, my records all clear. IRS told me to report incident to Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration. 1 800 366-4484 tel, (202) 927-7018 fax.. What a scam!!!!!!!
- Sounds Fishy| 3 repliesI also received a call from 415-251-8504 on my voice mail from a Ricky Johnson saying he was from the Tax Litigation Dept. I had to play the message several times as he did have a accent to his voice.
Claiming there was a deficiency in my taxes and have my lawyer or me contact them immediately. They also left a claim number. I contacted my tax advisor and googled the number and found plenty of listings showing this is a scam. - Tamianth replies to Sounds Fishy| 2 repliesReport them here to the real IRS:

http://www.latimes.com/business/money/la-fi-m ... y#axzz2wk6O5un4 - Me to| 1 replyExactly as everyone described it here...said I owed 6842.00 from miscalculations in my past 6 years of taxes and that several certified letters had been sent to my address and since I had ignored them I would be placed under arrest tomorrow. I was seriously stressed at first, then he said if I paid 500 now this would delay the arrest and I realized what was going on. When I said I would never pay them any money he screamed at me that he hoped I had a good lawyer.
