- Joan| 4 repliesWe received a call from this number today. An Indian man stated he was from the IRS. He said there was an agent investigating my husband for failure to pay taxes. He said I should have my husband call back at this number and speak with the investigating officer Kenneth Webster. I wondered at this point why one agent would call to have you call another agent. He asked for another number to reach my husband. I informed him we pay our taxes and asked how I would know his call was not part of a scam. I asked why the internal revenue service would contact people by phone instead of sending proof by mail. He said we should have received something. At this point I had serious doubts he was from the IRS. After talking to him, I checked the number and found it to be used by individuals perpetrating a scam.
- JaneWe received a call from 415-251-9150 today. An Indian lady claimed that IRS had a case against us. She said IRS sent us two letters which we never received. She said we should call the officer Kenneth Webster and she was his paralegal, Anna Watson. We never got any letters from IRS. We think the call was a scam.
- DuhRetrieved voicemail message. Could barely understand the male caller who claimed to be from the IRS requesting 'most urgent response to the call....do not ignore this call'. He even had difficulty providing call back number - duh!!
- TimReceived a barely intelligible voice mail claiming to be from the IRS. I immediately suspected a scam, particularly since the phone number he called was not the one we provided on our return. Thanks to the other commenters here for confirmation.
- Stevegot a call from 415-251-9150, an india guy spoke from his teeth probably trying to hide his accent, I immediately know its an scam, and told him he is calling from India and trying to scam for some money, he seems puzzled, and I hang up.

- JAWI received the call also stating that they were with the IRS and his name was Daniel Scott with the IRS, I called the number back and he said "I want to date you" and I told him nope and gave him to my husband who in turn said "I will track you and turn you in" The scum says don't hurt me I have children." Calling the IRS and local police department.

- Marina| 1 replyA man kept calling me from this number every day, several times a day. I kept missing the call but when I finally got a chance to pick up the phone, a man speaking very quietly into the phone and speaking with a heavy indian or african/nigerian accent, asked for some man's name which I couldn't even understand. I said he has the wrong number and to stop calling me every single day! I hung up the phone and he continued calling 5 more times. On the 6th time he called, I picked up the phone and asked what he wants and he said he wants to talk to me and to "f*ck you, f*ck you in a*ss", that's when I had read his phone number back to him and said I am now going online to report his phone number AND his company. And the phone calls stopped. As unprofessional as this idiot was, and disgusting as this whole experience was - I heard other voices and phones ringing in the background, as if it is some call center. Would love to get to the bottom of this!....

Don't disregard this message and do return the call as soon as possible before any legal litigation take place. You have that the mind that the decisions found-it(?) in in Quebec so goodbye and take care I hope you have a great day." - Ruby replies to Joan| 2 repliesI received the call on my cell. Same thing as stated...IRS, Male Indian voice. He left a message, did not talk to him!
- Suspicious MindThe caller I.D. said "Novato, California" and a message was left by a man with a heavy accent from India, to the point that I could barely understand a word he said. I managed to make out "IRS," so went back through caller I.D. and hit redial. A different man answered, who also had an Indian accent. He indicated that they were the "IRS" and then I clarified, are you saying you are the INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE he said yes. They said they were calling for my husband and needed "the name of his attorney." I asked how it is that they knew he HAD an attorney?! The man on the phone indicated that they had gone back through tax records for "the last 7 years" and that there was "a discrepancy." I asked whether the debt was for my husband only or for myself as well, to which he replied "just him." I told him that was interesting since we would have filed jointly! I asked why they had not sent anything in writing and he said that they did but since they had not heard anything they were now calling. I told him my husband no longer resided here and they told me that I better get in contact with him or the police would be here in 2 HOURS with arrest papers! Hahahaha, really?? We're back to debtor's prisons now I suppose, and man alive are THOSE gonna be crowded!! Told him, "Gee, I think this is a scam, at which time he said, "It's no scam" and then promptly hung up on me!

- GregThis one is going to be fun to watch on this site. These guys are busy, called twice today and left very long messages very similar to other posts at least the parts I could understand. I am thinking the IRS would not take kindly about these guys claiming to be associated with them. I am also guessing that if someone does talk to them, have them go to 800notes.com and look up their Phone number. That should stop the calls!

- LB in Houston| 1 replyHeavy, HEAVY accent.
Left msg on my home phone @ lunch today.
Identified himself as [David Mark(s) ???] a representative of the IRS and that I had "A Deficiency in last year's income tax payment."
Advised me or my attorney to return his call @ this number and to not "disregard this message, as it is a VERY time-sensitive issue."
Yeah, right. The folks at the IRS are obsessive-compulsive regarding paperwork; the very LAST thing they do is call.
Don't fall for it. - LCMJust received a voicemail message from this number on a business line - very heavy accent from woman calling herself "Jennifer". Could barely understand what she was saying but did have something to do with the IRS and not disregarding call. Tried to call back from my cellphone several times (blocking my number) and it was busy. The whole thing seemed strange so looked up this number on the internet and found this site. Thanks for the info! Obviously a scam so will be ignoring future calls.
- IllinoisSomeone said from IRS that needs us calling back in regards to the income tax return on 5-7-2014 ASAP. The voice had heavy accent and was very hard listening clearly. We can picked up the name Daniel Scott after hearing several times from the recording machine. Sound suspicious to us and repeat two times with the phone number 415-251-9150. In my opinion, you should be contacted via mail from IRS if they needs more informations regarding your return and not by phone like this.
We checked this phone number online registered in California. This is a red flag besides the caller has a heavy accent. I am trying calling IRS but was on hold for 30 min but unsuccessful, not sure if IRS should broadcast a message in the News or not to warn all taxpayers and hopes nobody is falling into this type of scam and what type of crime they are going to commit!!!!!- Caller: IRS

- IJC3Same scam as everyone else has mentioned... FYI US Dept of Treasury has a press release on the IRS website warning people about phone scam... link below to the January 2014
