I had been corresponding with a "Jessica BeLue" an when I called this number it said "BeLue studios"

This person is scamming job searchers on Craigslist. He gets your address from your resume, acts as if you're hired to be his assistant, and then sends counterfeit checks for you to deposit into your banking account. If the bank actually cashes the fraudulent check, the funds are then to be sent to someone else via moneygram or western union. If the bank realizes their mistake, YOU will be responsible to pay back all the money. If this person were legit, HE WOULD WIRE THE MONEY HIMSELF!

This person is going by the name Croom Washington. He's on Craigslist promising to hire you as his personal assistant & then send you a fake check to cash on the check. It says Biohazard Automotive from New York, but it was sent from 1921 Madison St. Bakersfield California 93307. I pray you catch him & report him to the police else he's going to ruin someone's life. I received a respond from a Miss Jesse Santos at 909-255-9584 on craigslist promising to hire me as a personal assistance and sent me a check to get a home business started the check was from a credit union in MI but the post mark was from Croom Washington  at 1921 Madison st. Bakersfield CA, 93307 and I check it out and found this site. Please be aware and thanks.

I just got a job offer from one Mr. Croom Washington. The job was "Personal Executive Assistant" Said he worked for Trim, Inc. a subsidiary of Coaster Fine Furniture. If I hadn't googled the tax ID number of the job description he provided me with. I would not of found a thread where they question his legitimacy. In it, it listed his number, I googled that and I found this thread. I guess my cynicism and general mistrust of people and things going well  for me proved to be beneficial this time. My only regret is having filled out the online "job application" and provided this awful human being with my address and phone number.

How does one report these kinds of people? How can we keep them from scamming the innocent and the trusting?

Croom Washington is a SCAM, do not do any business with such a fraud.

They sent me a reply to Craigslist they posted for Administrative Assistant, saying I was just who they wanted to hire! IThey claim the company name is Trim Inc, and Coaster Fine Furniture. They would then have me to sign a disclosure that would release credit info and a job application.  They want to give me check to deposit, and run errands in my own car.  I replied back after I Goodled them to obviously see that is a fraud.  Just by the response and name, I knew something was very wrong, I replied to them telling them they were a SCAMMERS.  Somehow, I went back to the email sent any they erased the text of the email, but still left the link for the application.  I contacted Craigslist, and they removed the post immediately.

Thanks for the post i almost gave my information away and I received a check for $2,500 with instructions to deposit to my account and withdraw $500 for my weeks pay and the rest to wire to Missouri. Thank god I googled this.

He even asked for my photo.   So sketchy.  Hard of hearing haha.  If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is!!!!   I sent a msg reporting croom on craigslist.

Same here, he asked for a picture of myself and said he's sending all this stuff, is this the kind of thing you should report to authorities? Ughh.

Burn the check.  Or shred it.  Destroy it any way that appeals to you.  Just don't try to cash or deposit it.

While I agree with you, I think I'd turn it over to the authority's. Maybe the State Attorney generals office - this kind of rubber check is probably grounds for fraud charges if they can catch up with the bozo.. maybe the fbi..

I deposited a check but haven't taken any of the money out what do I do?  I told him I thought this was a scam. Should I contact my bank asap and put a stop payment or something on it.

Yes! I suggest you go in person and tell them you found out it was a scam & fraudulent check!
Also make sure you turn it in as fraud to the local authority's!

If he is threatening you, save copies of any emails or texts and report him to the local authorities.

I just called my bank and they said since its pending already not to spend any of it and I will be contacted in 5 business days as to claim it as a fraud check. Now if I go to the cops will I get into any trouble

Should I let him know I know its a fraud or should I just ignore his texts and emails
