When they just called me, I demanded to know who he was and was calling from,, and he starting cursing in some sort of mixture of English and Vietnamese.

Message stating with an automated female voice recording from "officer Julie Smith" stating she was calling from the IRS regarding a time sensitive matter.

My voicemail said they were Julie Smith with the IRS too.  They said it was time sensitive and they would take action if I didn't call back.

Caller ID says "Unknown Name". Voice sounds slightly automated (awkward word inflection) and identifies as "Officer Julie Smith of the Internal Revenue Service". Never mentions our name just states it is an important call and that we or our retained attorney needs to return call before the Caller will take action against us.

The IRS typically sends a notice by mail. If they did call, they would ask for an individual by name. This is obviously a SCAM that feeds on the Citizen's fear of the IRS... which is unfortunate.

I got the same call. Definitely a robo-call, didn't use my name or any other identifying information, and would the IRS do that? I think not. Please alert all your older or less wise friends to this scam. Very bad people.

Received a call addressed to my full name to my parents phone number about tax issue. Robert Williams at tax certification department was the name/jobtitle they gave for themselves. (IRS has my actual address and phone number.) But I recently (2weeks-1month ago) used my parents address to send a request for freecreditreport and they make you write free credit report request on the outside of the envelope. After I sent that I thought im just begging someone to snatch that out of the mail stream and use my birthdate, phone, address, social to steal my identity. I should have just called or used the website I guess. Or maybe I should have use the P.O Box and Zip only and not the address Header name. I asked my parents if I ever did get my Credit report in the mail and they said no. makes me wonder now. Probably really will need my credit report now. :(
