Call reportedly from IRS to call before action is taken!

Call from someone (I couldn't understand who) saying that I needed to call back about a very time sensitive matter before action is taken.  

I received a digital phone message from the IRS saying that I needed to call Julie Smith immediately.  I called the number and was answered by a phone service. The lady could barely speak english and told me to call back tommorrow at 8:00 AM

I received a call from this phone number and they claimed to be the IRS. It was a computer generated voice leaving the message to call them. They said it is urgent. Most likely a scam........Beware!!!!

I just got a message to call Julie smith from the irs about a time sensitive issue. Total scam!!

I thought it was real , he read  that I had fraud taxes and I flipped out and asked for paperwork mailed to me and he said nothing will be mailed , so you need to get a lawyer now to bail you out of jail, I knew right then it was a telemarketer , he hung up on me and I called back and he acted like he couldn't hear me! Don't trust anyone on the phone!

It was not a telemarketer.  It was a lying, scumbag THIEF who was trying to extort money from  you.  The IRS mails letters if there is a problem.  It is also illegal to threaten arrest (among other things) which does not happen in real civil cases..

Call was a computer generated voice that said they were the IRS and that I needed to call back before charges were filed against me. When I called back and asked why they were calling me the guy hung up.

Same thing. Got the same computer call today from Julie Smith- SCAM!!!

I received a call also saying I had committed tax fraud.  told that two registered letters were sent to me
and no one would sign for them.  Said I would be arrested today if I did not pay at least 500$ of the
6,854.31 owed.  BUT I had to go to 7-11 or rite aide and get a payment voucher.  The payment voucher was to be a Green Dot money card.  Wow  almost had me convinced.  ONLY because we  were away the month she said the letters were mailed.  I could not find a number for the IRS that connected you to a person.  NICE, IRS

Yep, I got a call today with a similar message as previously posted by others with a dire warning "do not disregard this message". Now I owe no body money and am in good stead with the IRS so I knew it was something fishy. Thank you everyone else who posted comments.

I got hit with one of these calls today too and it made me think for a second because I was having a hard time hearing the message and also I had just received a check from the IRS today.  They are timing this scam along with when the letters would come in from the IRS because of the recent October 15th tax deadline for extension filing.  If anyone finds these SCAMO's.  Let me know and I will make them strip down and I will beat them with a computer power cord for wasting our time.  

Why isn't IRS putting stop to this?  Got a phone call telling my husband 2 IRS agents coming after our household same as you JAF and we owed money.  What knuckleheads and hopefully the authorities/IRS will catch up with these scammers.

Most of these scammers are in Pakistan or some other country where scamming dumb Americans is not illegal.  Their local police do not cooperate with the IRS or any US law enforcement.  They cannot be caught.

Using my home phone number from over a decade ago, scammer left a message with my parents that they wanted me to call regarding an old tax return with an IRS number.

First a Mary Chung answered and gave a reference number. Then another man answered "Internal Revenue Services."

You can report this San Francisco police / 415 area code. Anyone can be investigated. Anyone can be caught.

The worst kind of low life as most people are frozen with fear at the mention of the irs. I'm so grateful my recently deceased husband taught me well NEVER GIVE ANY INFO ESP ANY PERSONAL INFO ESP SOCIAL IF IRS WANTS YOU THEY WILL SEND YOU MAIL. BEWARE FOLKS

received two phone calls from this number stating it was the IRS.  Not legit!!!!!!!

I had a message left just an hour ago, I figured it was bogus since I don't owe the IRS. I hope no one falls for this and remember the IRS will send you mail and you can call them.

I got a call from this number appears to be a San Franscisco/North Bay Area Computer generated message to call the IRS. This is a scam.
