Call from 415-685-8709 said caller ID 'Out of Area'.  It was a recording call of the IRS scam.

We received a call from 415/685-8709.  It was a recording from a "Julie Smith" (real creative!).  I called right back to convince my hubby that it was a scam and a man answered "IRS".  Then he started hesitating when he found out I was home alone.  He could hear my family in the background.  Then he actually said that he needed me to call back when i was alone.  As, if.  I'm going to call the police on him now.  Please don't fall for this scam.  No one from the IRS is going to call you on a Saturday, first of all.  Then, the message added to retain a lawyer.  This is just to get you sucked in.  The IRS used the US Mail.  Merry Christmas!!

Received a message from "Julie Smith, IRS agent" at 415-685-8709, which I assumed was a scam, but returned the call out of curiosity.  When I called back, the man answered "IRS" and proceeded to ask for my name.  I gave him my phone number and asked him to tell me who they were trying to reach.  He provided only a first initial and my last name.  I asked why he couldn't provide a first name and he replied, "What the hell, this is the IRS, I can't give you that information" - so I immediately hung up.  I can only assume he was going to tell me I owed the IRS money -- Please don't fall for this scam!

Got this same call twice now!  Such a scam!  Don't call them back.  The IRS DOES NOT, I repeat DOES NOT work this way.  They mail you a letter.

Julie Smith, I'm sure does really exist, but this caller is not a real person. They may as well have called her Jane Doe. I called back just to check and the "IRS mailbox" was full.  SCAM SCAM SCAM

Got message saying "Do not ignore. Return call to IRS immediately." Returned call to "Chris" who said they were seizing all our assets for money we owe. When we asked for clarification of amount we owed and who we were speaking to he said "don't you know who you're talking to, you f*cking a**hole?!" And hung up. Reporting to authorities.

Sames as above.. Julie Smith, "Chris", threatened arrest within the hour for unpaid taxes.  Transferred to supervisor to discuss payment to stop the arrest actions, but it was the same person- he just changed his "accent"...

We never answer but they leave the same messages as the posts above.

Same message as most of the others.  Officer Julie Smith from the IRS.  Please do not ignore this call, blah, blah, blah.  The part that really got me was the end of the message.  The Voice Bot said, "Goodbye & Take Care!"   LOL  Like the IRS is going to say, Take Care!  First clue, we don't owe the IRS any money and second clue,  the IRS does not function this way.  They send a letters through the mail.  

The guy had an east asian accent and said I had to go to Walgreen's and get a green.moneypak for $500 and then call him back and give him the info on it. sounded weird. However, he got my social security number.

Received the same call.  Fortunately have caller ID so didn't answer.  Message was left on the answering machine.

So I got the same recording from IRS Agent Julie Smith...they called me on Friday as well (1/2/15), same recording This is IRS agent Julie Smith, please call back or have your retained attorney call us back.  I didn't bother, the IRS would definitely send a letter.  This is crazy!

Got a call from Julie Smith , IRS. It was a robo call saying we needed to call them back immediately at 415-685-8709.

Got the same message as you all twice today, left on answering machine.  Called back but "mail box full" so hung up.  I figured it was a scam but wanted to find out what they had to say.  Actually the IRS may call you, but only if you have some type of business with them where  you have given them your phone number and permission to call.

This is a scam beware 415 685-8709  Julie Smith urgently needs a call back in a time sensitive matter.  
If you call back it is not the IRS just some guy asking strange questions.

Received msgs from 415-685-8709.  From fake IRS agent Julie Smith.  Telling me to have my attorney call about taxes owed.  This is a SCAM.  Their msg. is suspect.  I have owed taxes before, the IRS uses the USPS (Post Office) and sends detailed letters.  I wish I knew how to block them.
