This is a popular scam where the caller poses as an IRS "officer" and tries to get you to pay money owed to avoid arrest.

Fraudulent call claiming to be IRS

Received two messages from 415-742-7561. When I called back they answered stating "Band" when I asked them to repeat their greetings they hung up.

I called back and asked with whom I was speaking, they said, "F*#" You" and hung up.

Received robocall from this number, posing as IRS, wanting us to return call "to prevent action". Sounded like B.S., and based on the above notes from others, I guess it is. Just starting in 2015?

IRS Caller said her name was Sheila Jones wanted me to return call

I have received 3 robo calls from this number today. Used the name Sheila Jones and threatened that I must return the call to "prevent action against you". Sounded bogus. Even the IRS can't harass you this way.

•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
