It is an IRS SCAM - They wanted my Social Security number!| 2 repliesThey asked for my address and my social security number to verify who I was.. I asked them to send me something in the mail and their reply: We have more than 8 million people to deal with. Told them I'll wait for the mail info to know about the lawsuit against me.

IRS web site that tells of this scam and where to make a report: http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Warns-of-Pervasive-Telephone-Scam - Sam BeckettI called them back three times and when i questioned why they needed the information they were asking of me, they hung up all three times. I will call them back everyday over and over, because they get so mad at me.

- bostonI got a call from this number yesterday and today. VM left both times claiming to be the IRS and threatening legal action. Total scam, but this is harassment and there should be some way to stop it.
- boston. . . not a bad idea to call back and harass them as Sam Beckett above did. I just did this - called back a couple of times and yelled at some guy with a foreign accent who answered "this is the IRS."
- tjfile a complaint w/the FTC. I just did. This scammer is a disgusting POS and the more complaints, the better: http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0048-government-imposter-scams

Call the number and got a hold of someone with a middle eastern accent. Asked if I had a lawyer then proceeded to tell

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. - AnonAutomated machine claiming to be officer nicky johnson from irs. Complete scam and harassment.
- Call type: Debt collector

- JAGot the same automated message (not even a REAL person) saying it was "Officer Nikki Johnson." and NOT to ignore this call and they were from the IRS and to call before action was taken against me. Ugh so annoying!. SCAM!
- Liz| 1 replyThe guy wanted info from me also. He said that there were problems with my 2009 and 2013 tax returns and that I owed the Fed Gov money. He said they sent me several "235" letters and I didn't respond. He asked me if I had a criminal lawyer, because I'd need one. He also said the sheriff's police was coming to my house with a warrant for my arrest in an hour. Then hung up.
- Caller: Don't Know, Posing as IRS
- ChristinaThey scared the crap out of me today. They told me that they had mailed 2 letters and because I didn't respond they were taking me to court. I was crying and he told me that my tears won't make it so I don't owe the IRS money... When I used the "eff" word the guy told me he didn't appreciate my language and he wasn't just a "customer service rep" like I needed to show him some respect... I told him that it isn't illegal to cuss and I didn't appreciate him threatening me over something I was unaware of... He didn't like that so he told me that he was seizing my bank account, suspending my license, and putting a warrant out for my arrest with jail time for up to five years. THEN HE HUNG UP! Of course I called my husband sobbing... telling him to pull all of our money out of the bank haha
This harassment is so wrong.- Caller: IRS scam
- Call type: Debt collector
- Alice MorganI dealt with the IRS many years ago for a valid reason. I can testify that if you're in trouble with them, they will send it in the mail, and it won't be an intimidating phone call. Disregard the message from Nicki Johnson at 415-799-7869.
