I just got a recorded call from IRS, saying if i don't call them back they are going to take action to me. After i read all the review, i decide to ignore them.

Recorded caller identifying as an IRS agent/officer, urgent I call back or action would be taken against me. I did call back, a man with a thick accent answered and soon hung up on me...no idea why. Thanks for the reviews here. I will ignore the call.

I just received a call from this number with a threat of further action. This is also during a time when someone in another state has used my ssn to file on their taxes. I did not call this number back I called the irs fraud department and left a message. IRS number is 1(800)829-1040. Please call and leave a message with the fraud department if you want to make sure. You have to push several lines and numbers and it takes forever. But do it.

Received call and voicemail from 415-799-8686. A recorded voice told me they were calling from the IRS and that I had to call back in order to avoid action being taken against me. Clearly a fraud/scam call.

Received the call at 8:22am CST on my cell phone. Naturally I chose not to answer. The voicemail said it was someone named Johnson (the first name cut off) from the IRS & I needed to call them back before they take further action. There should be a special place in hell for scammers, especially ones who think they can use scare tactics like this! I won't be calling these idiots back. Funny thing is, at the end of the call they said "take care". Get a real job like the rest of us & earn an honest living! Idiots!

I called the number back, got some crazy sounding foreign guy couldn't understand..guarantee you when you call irs you get the recorded spiel message first for the menu options..anyway, i said to him, you're not the irs are you and he said of course. scammers, so of course, he would've asked me for my ssn. of course

Those losers have been calling me 2 or 3 a day for the last several weeks. I'm  going to report  them to the Federal Trade Commission. So sick of it. I called back just to key them know I will be contacting the authorities, but no one answered.

I received two calls from 415-799-8686 that they are from IRS.  After reading threads above, I know it is phony.  Typically, IRS do not call you.

Just got 2 calls today same here. When I called back nothing happened

I got 2 calls from 1-415-799-8686.  I called and left a voice mail. It scared me and I called my boyfriend, he said he looked it up and it is a scam.  The IRS will send you a letter not call you.

Call from San Francisco, Caliphony to Alabama at 7:15 AM CDT.  My cell number is on the "do not call" list AND the FBI
doesn't care.

I received a call at 7:15 DST , which would make it 4:15 in California. How stupid do these scammers think we are?

I got 3 calls from them today saying Nikki Johnson needed to talk to me asap. Then when I called back they told me I had to pay $4889.86 right over the phone or I was going to be arrested for fraud. I've never messed up my taxes and never done anything to have to owe. I'm glad everyone else says it fraud. I was scared. I kept asking the person on the phone to tell me what they found and why o owed he wouldn't answer. Just kept saying it's been adding up over 10 years... That's what made me hang up... I'm only 23, therefore I haven't been paying taxes for 10 years. Scam. Idiots.

I just received this message as well. Ignore it! It's a scam!

Got a call from the "internal revenue service" telling me to call back immediately and to not ignore the call. I have been wondering what the scammers did so  I called back and talked to "christopher brown" , badge number 100184182. Very thick accent. He confirmed he was the IRS. He kept asking me what number called me which I didn't know. He hung up on me.

Obviously scam. Don't call back!

Received call this morning with recorded message from  Nikki Johnson saying that me or my attorney needed to contact the IRS at 415-799-8686 immediately.  I was instructed not to ignore the call or further action would be taken against me. Did not call back - SCAM!!

I have had 2 calls from this number (415-799-8686) today (4/13/15). Both were a recorded message, that said that I or my attorney needs to contact IRS Agent, Nikki Johnson immediately, or further action will be taken.
Apparently from the comments, this is surety a scam.
