Received several calls this a.m. that I didn't answer. Called back - East Indian female posing as an employee of the IRS with children's sounds in the background. Woman's name was allegedly, "Matty Johnson." Would not spell her name for me. Hung up on me when I asked her to spell her name. Told me I was being sued by the IRS. What was the name of my lawyer? We got disconnected. Called the # back...East Indian man answered. BEWARE! Told him I was contacting the IRS.

I got the same thing on the 15th by a name I could barely understand I got one at 8:21 and 10:31 am. I listened to the message 10 times.  I was caught off guard by someone saying they were from the IRS.  It sounds like an automated message. What also got me was it was muddled and very hard to understand.  I have not heard anything back in 2 days if I do I hope I am awake to pick up.  I deal with scams at work all the time

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

They can't be stopped from initiating the calls.  You can protect yourself to a degree with a call blocker.  Also, do not pick up on call numbers you do not recognize.

So I got a call from these idiots... Telling me they were with the irs, etc, etc, blah-blah-blah! I hung up and he called back in about 5 minutes! This time, claiming to be an agent with Microsoft Windows Support, telling me they had received several error reports from my Windows PC, informing them of an error in my Microsoft Billing Account, and they just need to verify some information...
    Seriously guys?! I mean really?!
I beta test for both Microsoft and Google, so I had a little fun! I began to grill him on information, access protocols, and other basic [***], even an entry-level Microsoft employee would know! To which he responded by hanging up!
This time I called him back in about 5 minutes!
    >He answered the call with "Thank you for calling The Internal Revenue Service, Matthew Johnson speaking, how can I help you?" Not bad guy! So I asked him for his company name and IRS Business ID!
    >He replied, "I said I'm with the IRS!"
    >I said, "Oh really?!"
    >He said, "Yeah! Or if want I can change my company name! How's McDonald's? Or Microsoft? Does that work for you?!"
I busted out in laughter and hung up the phone!
    Just wow people!!!
    • Caller: IRS, or Microsoft, or McDonald's! Pick one!

This number has called me several times, but as I do not pick up calls from unknown numbers, they left a garbled automated voicemail that mentioned something about legal action.

Called the number back, an Indian man answered the phone. He said he was calling from the IRS and that I was under investigation for not paying my taxes three years ago.  I said that's impossible I never got a letter, not only that but, I use reputable accountants to file my taxes, and take very good care not to make any mistakes like this.  He responded by saying that he tried calling me twice within the past two months, which i said is a bunch of bull [***] because I never got a call from him.  He then I asked him what  this so called lawsuit entailed in which he gave me a bunch of jargon.  He said action is going to be taken against me and I will have my all of my property seized and my assets, and that I was going to be arrested. There has "apparently" been a warrant out for my arrest for months and i should expect to go to court and that I shouldn't be wasting time talking to him about it any more.  Then he proceeded to tell me that I should expect a sentence of 5 years in state penitentiary and then 3 years of house arrest.  I asked him, if you're really from the IRS you must have my social security number, which of course he didn't.  I should have known then, but I've NEVER have had a scammer try to pull this level of harassment and persistence as this company has.  In my case they never asked for any information. Anyways, if you receive a call from this number, don't call them back, unless you want to have a conversation like the one above. If you have had a conversation like the one above report it to the IRS and don't feel bad for panicking, you are not alone.

I asked who he was calling for and he gave the name Danny Zook. I told him I was not that person and he had the wrong number. They called our place of business, recorded message. Did not catch the name, it said they were the IRS calling and  you need to call right away before action is taken against you. As a courtesy, I called the number back and an Indian gentlemen answered the call. "IRS"  I explained they had a wrong number and he was trying to take my personal info. I gave him my first name, which I now regret!!! I told him I was not comfortable giving him anymore info and he began to answer back in a mocking tone. I asked if he needed the number to remove from their call list and he was very condescending and said they had it off the caller ID. At this point, I knew it was a scam, I googled the number and found others had already took similar calls.

I received a call today from this number.  A female with a foreign accent said was "Nickie(or Micky) Johnson" (the call was recorded). said she was from the IRS and that I needed to return this call ASAP. Also said if they didn't hear from me within 48hrs., I would suffer the consequences.  This is the third call in 2 days so far.  It quieted down for a while and is now happening again.  I also got calls from another number and name(male) voice about 2 weeks ago.  I called the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY AND ASKED WHY i AM GETTING THESE CALLS WHEN i AM ON THE REGISTRY.  I was told that they cannot stop computer generated calls.   SENIORS BEWARE-PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THESE CALLS.  JUST MAKE A LIST AND REPORT THEM.  YOU CAN CALL YOUR PHONE COMPANY, THE POLICE, AND MAKE A REPORT OF HARASSMENT.  I AM A SENIOR AND I ALSO CALLED THE FCC.  PLEASE BE CAREFUL
