I've had three hangup calls from this number today. They never leave a message.

I got a threatening message and called back. It is a scam claiming to be un-filed taxes and you will be in 'criminal court' - they had my address, but couldn't tell me my legal name!

Caller says his name is Steve Martin and is contacting me because I am subject to some criminal violation of some IRS or other charge(difficult to understand - sounds like he's from India) and will be brought before a federal magistrate or a grand jury and to call him for help.  I am not subject to any such thing and did not call back. He called again - same recorded message. Called a few weeks ago also - same thing. Obviously as scam - calls from Novato, California. I am in Arizona. I believe it is a felony to falsely represent yourself as a Federal agent. (How stupid to say your name is Steve Martin! )He called my daughter this week at her home also with the same name and message/scam but a different phone # -this time   from Virginia. He should be stopped.

Thanks for the posters.   A guy named Steve Martin called my home phone on Sunday morning with threatening messages. I blocked the caller.

The callers are located in India and Pakistan.  They spoof local numbers.

This same guy call a few weeks ago and left a different number(7076669970) which was trace back to a Vodafone Network mobile number in West Bengal.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

85 yr old mother in LA area receiving repeated threatening calls form "Steve Martin", heavy accent. Something about IRS, tax liens, criminal charges to be filed. Having her call local sheriff.

Caller claims I am subject to criminal action and if I don't call him back it will be considered a "second warning".  Refusing to call back will result in further action by the U.S. treasury.  Caller Id was Novato CA

I hung up on the same caller this morning and have gotten calls, which I haven't even answered, from the same number several times since.  They are relentless!
