I have a boat for sell on craigslist in Northwest Florida Panhandle; they ( Brett with National Auto ) said they could sell it for top dollar quickly and would like to know more about it. However, the area code is from San Fran, CA. I smell a scam!!!!!

And they left a call back number of (888) 719- 9755

I have a van for sell on craigslist in the Portland, OR area; same story as Josh from FL, Brett left a message saying he was from National Auto and that they could help me sell my van for top dollar. Area code is from San Fran, CA.

Though the call back number that was left on my message was (800) 678-6505

Same as Shaun only located in Fla and have van 4 sale on Craig's list.  How did they get our telephone numbers?   That info isn't published.  Put in a return call just 4 fun to see what happens.  Will post any updates.

I have been getting their calls too.  If I answer they hang up, if it let it roll to voice mail a person named Brett from National Auto Sales leaves a message to call 800-678-6505.  Brett’s number that popped up on my caller ID is 415-992-5431.  I tried calling that number but it goes to a recording stating the caller is unavailable.  This is a Craigslist scam I am sure being I have a vehicle for sale on CL as well.  I am sick of phone scams and email scams that come from Craigslist.  Time to stop using Craigslist all together!

I got the same thing. Answered and they hung up. I've had several numbers call and do the same thing since I've posted stuff on craigslist.

Just now from 415-992-5431, they hung up when I answered. I don't have anything for sale on craig's or anywhere else. My phone is a magicjack and I'm located in Marin County California.

Ditto on the Craigslist connection. I've got a couple of things listed in the Portland, OR area. Bad enough we have to deal with all the SPAM emails but it seems lately that the phone calls are gaining in popularity as well.
It's always the same thing. Phone rings, you answer ............... CLICK!

They'll (the low-life Phishermen) do whatever it takes to legitimize a phone number or email address so they can package it up and sell it. RAT BASS-TURDS!!!!

I have a truck listed on Craigslist and I also got a call from this number. They hang up as soon as the call was answered. Now wondering if you will attempt to charge my phone number.

I have a post on craigslist as well and they keep calling. I usually just call back about 10 or 20 times to see if i can screw up their system. Sometimes they hang up and sometimes they let it go to a voicemail.

Same as everyone else. I have a motorcycle listed in FL. Got a call from this [***] Brett, if that was his real name. He said that my bike was worth more than I was asking. That is why I have a MagicJack just for anything I post on craigslist.
