Caller is The Shriners looking for donations.

Holy - my wife got a call from this number today and the guy was pretty rude.  He said:

"Hi. This is Rick. Is Mr. XXXX there"

My wife replied "Not at the moment, can I..."

click - the guy hangs up on her.

Man... holy rude!  Good to know it's just the Shriners looking for money - Next time they call, I'll ask if they have found any, and then I'll ask them to share with me where they found it so I can have some too - cause God knows I don't got any to hand over to an organization like the Shriners!

This is DEFINATELY the Shriners looking for money.

The guyjust called back (half hour later) with the same opening - my wife tells him I was coming to the phone, and when I pick it up, the guy just goes into a pitch about the Shriners.  I was rather annoyed since I he didn't ask if it was a good time, and didn't even let me get a word in.  I then hung up on him.

The guy had the guts to call back and ask why I hung up on him.  I couldn't believe the brass b4lls on the guy!  When I said it was because he wouldn't listen to me, he just hangs up again!  Can you believe that?  And to think he was trying to get me to donate???  I didn't even get a chance to ask him my question!

So if you see the number, say the same thing to the guy - IF you can get a word in!

same thing just happened to me, so I googled the number to see if i could look it up. Got this forum.

Same business, they name they're asking for wasn't around. The guy hangs up.

Just got a call from them at my work, a retail store. They are always looking for my boss but he isn't here on the weekdays. The guy didn't hang up on me though, just said he'd call back on the weekend.

Got this call June 2/08 at about 3:25pm (Toronto, ON) but didn't answer.
I googled the number and found your posts on here.

I called the number back and was instructed that I could call their customer service line at 1-800-470-5349. I called and was very easily able to place myself on their "Do not call" list (you must be calling from the phone number you wish to block).

Easy!

called me in Toronto, but line was dropped

I posted here before, a woman just called looking for my boss who isn't here on weekdays, she uses a manipulative line like "We dealt with him last year" (I know he would never donate)...

Called me and decided to hang up.  I called the number to hear an automated message telling me about how to make a donation to the Shriner's community program.

this is my third post. this time it was a man and he asked for my boss and when i said he's usually not here on the weekends he said okay and disconnected immediately! haha how rude.

got a call from this # the guy was very rude and interrupted me several time,
I called 1-800-470-5349 and placed myself on their do not call list, If they have rude guys calling for donation , they will not going to get any

asks if this is so and  so...
I ask him: may i know whos speaking there?
him: NO and hangs up

Thank you to the persons that gave the 1-800-470-5349 number to get on the do not call list. It was very easy.  It's a good charity but I'll never give to them over the phone again!
