Its usually used as an April's fool joke, like someone will say hey call me back at this number and when you do, you end up on the gay chat

a person who I thought was a friend text me this crap.  It was real crappy of them.  I will never talk to them again.  How much do you get charged for something like this?

got a text message from my ex girlfriend saying the same thing, "some [***] went down and your name came up ... my phone's dying, call me back at this number ..."

I also got this message! "some sh*t went down and your name came up ... my phone's dying, call me back at this number ..."  416-640-5050.. I did not call because the message was kinda long - why not just call me from his friend's phone instead???   dont be fooled ...

I got the same message so i looked it up and saw this site so i never even called it.

They claim the # is 416*640*5054 and 5050 you wrote down wrong

Got a text from a friend's number with this number to call, saying battery was gonna die... call my friend's number at ...

Moral to the story, it can't serious because the message was preceeded by a FWD: which means it's SMS spam.

Got a txt from an area code I just moved from, but my new phone didnt recognize the number. Found this odd at first, searched the number and bingo bango here I am. Thanks for posting this yall, saved me the trouble of calling this number back!

416-640-XXXX is a landline in Toronto, ON (CANADA) - Since I got the text from a friend's phone (who can't spell) I assumed someone was hacking his SCAM of a PRE-PAID Phone Company.  I called the number from my house phone since I have unlimited Canada Calling on the landline (not the cell)
All I got was "Your call can't be completed"

Mine came directly from my friend's phone. He uses a pre-paid wireless service. So I don't know if they're scamming or what.  He couldn't have sent the text because everything was spelled correctly, and perfectly punctuated.  He's not the most educated sort of fellow.

Same deal here as others.  Same cell battery dying story via txt msg.  Call cannot be completed as dialed.  Friend called when I txted him its a wrong number and he got thru.  Gay chat line.

Got a text message from a random phone # saying "I need to talk to you about some stuff that went down andd your name came up.  Phone about to die.  Call me at 416-640-5050 when you have a second."  It sounded strange, so I looked it up and realized it is bologna.  Never called the number.

it was .20 cents on the bill.. wow i found this on my boyfriends phone.. i guess he has some explaining to do...

Got sent to my husbands phone from a friend who had a pre paid phone. Cost us 49 cents. He deleted the txt so I'm not sure what it said.

Raised Hell with Verizon.  Oops.
