- Call type: Telemarketer
- CThe caller came across as suspicious and probing. He claimed to be calling from Avis energy, however the posts on this website and on other websites for the same number shows that the caller is not consistent in identifying himself. He has been reported to the police.
- Caller: Avis Energy
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Fed UpThis number has called several times. Doesn't leave a message and when you get the caller live, is very domineering. I hung up last time... after requesting my number be removed. Has called back twice and is now Boeing blocked by me.
- dd142| 1 replyEco-Energy - wanted to know how old my furnace is, etc. Knew my name. This is a scam. There is a legitimate Winterproofing program that Enbridge is running through Greensaver. I asked if he was calling from this and he didn't know what I was talking about, so definitely a garbage call. Also told him I'm on the DNCL list and I'm happy to report him. Googled Eco Energy and they have had their BBB membership revoked.

- ScammerScammer did not even bother answering.
- Will be reportedI actually had an inspection scheduled for today by the Ontario Electrical Authority following a new furnace installation. This number called Tuesday to "reschedule our appointment" for Saturday I was surprised when the 'real' inspector came as scheduled. After discussing the situation with him, I looked up the number here. On his advice, we are waiting until the scammer appointment Saturday, will review the 'inspectors' no doubt false 'credentials' and then report him to the Elec Auth and the OPP.

- Vandenberghe H| 1 replyToday at 12:48 was the second time I received a call asking what the age of our furnace and air conditioner was fors some rebate programme?? When asked details there was no company or anything mentioned. I did recieve a call about the same thing last week. From the comments it looks like this could be legitimate. Why do they not identify on whose behalf they are calling? These calls are very annoying and as they know your address I question if they just want to know when someone is home? We have had a break-in before.
- palo replies to dd142Thanks, very help full
- itunesbrian TorontoCalled me at 8:22 p.m.
I do not pick up the phone for unknown callers. They didn't leave a message.
Just another zillionth telemarketing criminal calling again.
NO ONE ANSWERS PHONES ANYMORE BECAUSE OF THIS HARASSMENT! - Linda replies to Vandenberghe HThis is NOT legitimate. When your Caller ID displays a local area code but the ring is long distance, it is a spoofed number. The reason they know your address is because they got it out of the phone book. Do not give them any information and, if your phone has the capability, block their number.
- Ramoth_v2Called May 7th at almost 3pm - no message was left. This is a spoofed number, and its definately a scam
There is a posting on Wikipedia addressing this – the site states it is unclear as to whether or not it is advertising.
There was a Federal Ministry of Natural Resources energy home retrofit program, that Ontario dropped out of in 2011 (I once worked at the Ontario Ministry of Energy); the program ended in June 2012 and the webpages have been Archived. There were prequalified vendors – but since the program is no longer active any company telemarketing and claiming to be part of this program is committing fraud.
