hangs up-sounds like they need some WD 40 for their automated
telemarketing phone system.

Their phone # is 416-581-1236 call them and stay on the line, you'll be connected to an operator.
In a clear calm voices tell them you've been contacted numerous times and want it to stop. Then give them your phone # and them will add it to their DO-NOT-CALL list.

Repeated calls and then hang up!

Scotiabank continues to call stating that it is a courtesy call, it seems so urgent that they keep calling almost every other day! You can wonder now where all your extra bank fees are going to; supporting inefficient calls.

I have called my bank back at the regular number, and they don't show anyone having tried to call me. It's kind of annoying. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the life insurance that they offer.

Called 3 times on 3 different days 5pm, 6pm and 7pm.  No answer and then the third time it rang as if I had called them and someone answered ... thought it was a scam so I hung up!

everyday they call, no wonder bank fee's are outragous

Picked up the phone knowing that it was an Optima Communcations agent calling on behalf of Scotiabank.  Told off the agent telling her to stop calling my number because it is annoying. I noticed that the agent giggled too after this, I would have told her to f*** off because that entire telemarketing firm is full of third-rate folks who cannot get real jobs, so resort to this option of work.

Called tonight around 7:30pm and hung up when my answering machine came on.  Don't know why this should be happening as I have an unpublished # and am on the Nat'l Do-Not-Call-List!

This number repeatedly calls as a courtesy call for my fiance, who is in the military and is overseas. I told them to please stop calling me... and they keep calling back. I told the lady my fiance was in Haiti in the armed forces and she could not speak with him, and she hung up in my ear.

These idiots call me at least once a day despite my number is on the National Do not call list. That proofs how worthless this list is.

Called to try to sell Accident Insurance for Hospital Expenses.
Persistant.  Polite but persistant.
Kept dropping rate and coverage with each "No thanks".

Now they have stopped calling me from this number, instead started calling me from this number:

guess it's some sales b.s. from the bank

never answer if the number is not in your phonebook contacts,
let it go to voicemail and call back if needed.

also, add the spam number to your contacts as "spam", "spam1" etc, that way you'd never have to answer

They are calling my celluar number now, not sure how they got that! I am close to stop paying my bank fees!! Should tell them to shove the fees up their a#@es!

I faxed them and told to stop calling their fax number is 1-416-581-8878 now they cannot deny it was done in writing

Male caller with British accent said he was calling for Scotiabank and was selling accident/life insurance.  Told him I wasn't interested and he kept talking so I hung up.

THEY ARE NOT I repeat NOT with Scotiabank!  I spoke to head office and I spoke to my branch and SCOTIABANK clearly stated This compnay is a FRAUD! Do NOT give them any personal information!
This is the new fraud tatic that these scammers are using to try and gain access to your account!  They got your card number and they trying to access your account to steal your money!

So my new Scotia account is where this call orginiates?  I'll be sure to go "see" my bank manager....
