This number has called me twice in the last two days, and six times to my mother's number in the last 3 days.  We both experience the same thing.  When we answer, nothing happens.  It's "dead" air.

Further to my previous message, I called Rogers (I'm with their HomePhone service), and lodged a complaint against this number.  I don't know if anything will happen, but the more people who complain, the greater the possibility of something being done.  :)

I just got a call from this number.  The guy (George with an Indian acccent) said he was calling from Rogers and that they were giving me a discount from now on, on all my services..Thanks Ted!  He then wanted to know which Rogers services I am currently using.  If he was calling from Rogers, then he would know.  I told him this.  He said he only has the contact information because they just told his department this morning.  They were only able to provide him with name and number, not account information.  I emailed Rogers, I wont hear back for a while I'm sure.

Try downloading an "out of service" tone from this website http://wolfram.org/writing/howto/phone.html and putting if on the beginning of you voice mail or answering machine.  It won't discourage live callers, they probably won't even notice but it might actually confuse the automated dialler systems.  Power to the people!

This number just started calling me.  Two days now.  I just called the number back from an untraceable phone.  "The number you have called is not assigned.  Please try again.."  How did you find out it was a Rogers phone?  I know a number of people who work for Rogers.  I'll ask them if they can trace it.  It's starting to get as annoying as my 1-000-000-0000 phone calls.

This number called me twice on Feb. 7, and for three days prior to that. I am getting the same as everyone else - there is dead air.  I don't understand how a local number comes up on call display, but no one can tell you who it belongs to.  Who assigns numbers?  Someone does and did and ought to be able to trace who this belongs to and get the police involved for harassment!

I called The Canadian Marketing Association (416-391-2362)  you can put your name and number on a do not call list - it only applies to companies who are registered with them so it may not help in this instance.  They referred me to the CRTC, I went to the web site www.crtc.ca and lodged a complaint there.  They regulate the radio, television and phone companies and will look into this number and who assigned it if they receive enough complaints.  I complained with Bell and Rogers also just in case they are the ones who assigned this number.  My suggestion is the more people who  complain the better and more likely someone will do something.

This number called on the weekend and someone was finally there (416-907-0553) is belongs to Rogers.  Someone was calling to offer a promotion to current Rogers customers.  I complained to a supervisor and will also be calling directly to Rogers to complain.

Have called twice in two days, despite my asking to be removed from their calling list.  They said they were from Rogers and were talking about my account, but I don't even have an account with them, though they did know my name.
