This is Collectocrap #9 on my phone. Here is where I came of with "Collectocrap" series on numbers on my phone based on Collectocorp which was bugging till I changed my phone number. If I see Collectocrap followed by my two digit number on my caller ID then I know it is a collection agency and don't bother to answer.

It's pretty sad people have to hound you to pay your bills. On the other hand your first error is avoiding collection calls. This is what creates the world around you. If you were responsible and humbled you would realize you need to comply and tend to your responsibilities. Dont make things worse for yourself, your family, or your future. Keep on top of your business and return your calls. Your future is up to you, do yourself a favour.

Identity theft screwed me over big time, so please don't be so quick to judge.

I have been subject to many harassing and very rude calls by Collectcorp because they have mistaken me for someone with the same name. I owe nothing. It appears that this is common. They are incompetent bottom feeders.

Collection companies are staffed by angry, stupid people. They follow like lemmings and don't care about the reasons behind one's financial difficulties. All that matters to them is that you repay part or all of the debt. If they are calling, you probably owe the money but you don't have to deal with these morons.

Me as well to the tune of 20 grand. I had accounts all over the place that I never setup. Still fighting for my identity.

One's best response, is no response.  Just ignore the call.
Many of those who work as Debt Collectors are not polite because they are not Boy Scouts and/or Girl Guides.  They are mainly a downtrodden lot, and their ranks include ex-convicts, drug addicts, 20-somethings without high-school diplomas and a variety of other hard-luck cases.
Oh, my gawd, they are like thugs.  However, the more clean-cut types simply can’t get the job done.  So don't expect that debt collector, who is calling you, to be nice!!!
