My husband received a call from this number this morning, with no message left.  He answered it this afternoon and it was someone claiming to be from Choice Hotels.  They referenced our recent stay by city and state. He was also told that, because of our recent stay, that he was eligible for a 4 day stay for $250 at some point in the next six months, and would receive a $50 Visa gift card. We just had to pay the $250 right now. When he declined, they lowered the rate to $199 and offered a $100 gift card. They would not let him call them back. It sounds very much like a scam, but if it is, I'm wondering how they got his phone number and knew the specifics of our stay. We have contacted Choice Hotels, but have not heard back yet.

Have been calling twice a day since Monday, April 20th and leave no message.  If legit, they would leave a message.  Put on my Call Block list .... moving on :)

Same experience as abqcurzn except that I was offered points instead of a gift card. Very likely scammers (they had the city and date of my last stay with Choice Hotels).

called every day.  One time left an accidental message...a bunch of people in background and a girl laughing....and saying Adam...Adam...to someone .

Been trying to contact me for 3 days.  Glad this site is available to check out these numbers before answering the phone.  Seems alot more of this is happening on these types of calls.

Its choice hotels/bluegreen vacations. I have bought a couple of these packages over the years and its a really cheap way to travel if you can accept that there is a timeshare tour. So it is a legit company and offer

I just got the call from choice hotel vacation people. It does seem legit and if I had the money I would probably jump on the deal. I explained we have no money, I am the caregiver for my husband who is disabled and cannot travel for leisure and only because of a medical trial we are getting a hotel room every couple of weeks and we get reimbursed for it. I asked them not to call back..so we shall see

Got the call 3 times.  Didn't answer.  If they don't leave a message, they are not in my contacts list or I don't know the number; I don't answer.  It can't be important.  I can't say it enough; if anyone wants money up front for anything IT IS A SCAM......

Number called me and will not leave message. If this is not a scam they would, leave message, have a way for you to verify who they are and would allow you to call them back. I am not sure why one poster said this is legit? I would argue this poster is probably with the scam company as they often scour the internet for their own numbers leaving positive feedback for those of us searching their number. I would never prepay for anything over the phone just because they know your number and stay details. If hackers can get your bank info they can surely get into a hotels reservation system with their eyes closed.

The same thing happened to me today. The fact that they do not have a call back number is a real red flag. They tried to call me back several times and I declined the call.

Got the same call today. Told the person multiple times I couldn't talk because I'm at work, they never let me go, so I had to hang up on them. I asked to send me the offer by email and they said they could only do it over the phone, and that I had to choose my prize now. It sounds very fishy.

Hang up. No Message. Block caller and move one to the next thing...

Just now got a call and answered like an idiot. I heard a lot of people in the background and then a guy say "hello Mr. (my last name)", then I hung up right away and looked at this site.. Thank yall for y'all's comments. I was about to call it back.

Nov 6th about 9:00 pm. Got same offer as abqcruzn. Sounded like college party going on in the background. Did not like that they had my home address.

Received the call 17-Nov with similar details as above posters. Normally, I disconnect right away, but I do listen if it is from a company I do business with. She first thanked me for being a Gold member, then corrected herself, and thanked me for being a diamond member, so she had some information. But, she also thanked me for a recent stay I did not recognize albeit with about 50 nights thus far, I don't remember the official name of each hotel. I listened until the time came to "we collect the money up front and then you ahve a year to choose which "great" deal you get" CH will be hearing from me on this one. My guess is that this is NOT endorsed by the chain, but rather my information was sold by one of the actual hotels as they are all independently owned. With sophisticated computer systems today, they can probably figure out which one if we all complain to them. Do it! Do it NOW!!

Just got a call from this number, evidently they are back to scamming.

This is a SCAM to get you to pay in advance with credit card so that they can receive your CREDIT CARD NUMBER and all associated information.  The caller is not from CHOICE HOTELS, he has received your information when you went online and filled out the review for TRIP ADVISOR regarding your last stay at a Choice Hotel and you selected the wrong menu when you were filling out the review. They have hacked Trip Advisor Reviews to get our information.
