Received a phone call at 2 in the afternoon from an unfamiliar phone number (417-339-1260). Searched this phone number in the online yellow pages and found this information:

Provider: Centurytel
Location: Branson, MO

It appears that this might be very similar to other phone numbers calling from the same area for timeshares/vacations.

This number has been calling my cell phone 3-4 times a week for the past month. I am never able to answer since I am at work, though it sounds like I'm not missing much.

I've gotten two calls from them on my cell phone, consecutive days.  They are Festiva Resorts in Branson, MO.  Http://www.festivaresorts.com.  It's more than likely some time share crap.

Asked if Jacob was there and I said yes and they hung up. Strange...

I think I get it. From what I read here, and what showed up on my caller ID (SUMMERWINDS RES), I am fairly certain this is about trying to sell shares in Branson properties. They called me today, and I always screen my calls through my answering machine. They hung up and left no message. Here's the backstory, and all of you should think back as well. On July 31st, my husband and I went back to my hometown of Eufaula, Oklahoma to visit family for the weekend. It was also the weekend of the great redneck holiday called Whole Hawg Days (lots of bbq, cars shows, poker run, parade, street dance, carnival and booths upon booths of stuff and junk, in the heat of the summer sun by Lake Eufaula---CANT BREATHE!! But it was fun, in a very redneck holiday way, LOL!). There was one booth there that was having a drawing for a really nice customized mini cooper. My husband immediately began to drool over it, so we both filled out a card to enter the drawing. I noticed offhand the fine print detailing it was sponsored by a resort/vacation/timeshare company in Branson, MO. I knew then that I would probably eventually be recieving phonecalls for solicitations. I can only hope that we maybe won that car, my husband would be a very happy man, but I highly doubt it. They would have left a message for that I am sure. I am also sure we will be hearing from them again, and again, and again...
Now, any of you remember doing anything similar in the past several months, filling out for a drawing for something totally cool but didn't pay attention to the fine print? I can most certainly guarentee you that is how you got on thier hit list, and that you didn't win a dern thing but more unsolicited telemarketing calls...

Bingo.  I signed up for the Mini Cooper at Jazzfest in Sioux Falls SD.  That is where they got our phone numbers.  I as well figured that my info would be sold to some marketing company.  My own fault for using my real phone number!

i've gotten 3 phone calls in 1 week, haven't answered it, b/c i didn't know the number, plus i figured if it was important, they would leave a message & they haven't done that

My buddy and I signed up for the Mini Cooper at the Sioux Empire Fair in Sioux Falls, SD. They never let ya just win anything these days do they...there always has to be a catch. That's just no fun!

I have just received a call from this number. I am averaging a minimum of two a day. I never answer;How can I get them to stop!

Does anyone know when the contest is complete, who won the Mini? Or is this just a contual scam  in which there are no winners and which needs to be reported to the Missouri Attorney General at http://ago.mo.gov/consumercomplaint.htm?

The company does not sell any persons information, the information is used internally for the use of marketing. The mini cooper drawing is held at the time the drawing states on the registration card.  You may write the company to find out last years winner and the previous years also.

the drawing will be held in January '08. You can write to 3940 Green Mtn Dr Branson,MO to request the winners name.

The mini-cooper promotion is sponsored by our company and we do NOT sell our names to anyone. On every entry form, it says that you will be contacted for a discounted vacation offer.  It is not a scam - There is a car or cash given away once a year!  We are a legitimate company and are registered with the attorney generals office.

We signed up for the mini cooper in oklahoma as well....and took them up on their call as well!!! it was a GREAT vacation offer!!  only had to 'listen' to a resort spill to enjoy a wonderfully cheap to almost FREE vacation!!!!    we would do it again!!!  worth it all!!

yes at the fair they had the very awesome mini cooper that i so rly want. but i didnt win.:(. they said they were giving it away so wat did i do. gave em my cell #. blugh. they called while i was in school so i guess im not missing much

ok i've had a 417-339-1260 & 417-339-4352 calling my phone at least 4 times a week they don't leave no message there even calling me at 10 o'clock at night does anyone have any idea or how to block them

I've received 3 calls in the past week but have not answered.  I signed up for the mini cooper drawing in Memphis, TN about a month ago at the Dixie fair.  Guess it makes sense since this seems to be everyone else's experience.  Let me know if I win!

Caller said I was is the final drawing for the Mini Cooper. I registered for the car at the Cordova Arts and Crafts Festival. She offered me a 3 day 2 night stay in Branson with 2 free shows and other extras for $129.00. It sounded nice but I am afraid this is just another scam.

I told the person who called that I was not interested and did not want to talk and did not want her to call back. She continued to try to convince me about Branson. I told her several times that I wasn't interested and I had to go. I finally said goodbye. The number continues to ring on my phone. No message. Just keeps calling. I'm calling Tmobile to see how to block this call

I just received a phone call yesterday, and took them up on the vacation offer as well, but after it was done, I was hopeing I didn't give out any  information that I would regret, because my friend told me of scams from branson, after reading this information I feel some what better. It's sad that it's hard to trust in something.
