Five calls from this number in the last month.  CID shows "Out of area".  Doesn't leave a message.

Caller ID said Mercy Joplin. Said this call is in regards to a complaint. Please immediately contact 844 442 8122. I called Mercy Hospital in Joplin after the first call January 31st. It was not them or anybody authorized by them. Since then this number  called 2/22 & 3/01 without leaving a message. Since I'm not with the Mercy Hospital System in Springfield or Joplin and they're not authorized by Mercy, they can kick rocks! Damn scammers!

An update for anybody interested, they called again but left no message on 3/20, 3/25 & 3/27. I called the actual Mercy Hospital in Joplin,  MO @ 417 556 3729 & talked with Jodi in the security department. They are aware of this scam. They've had LOST of complaints & are pursuing legal action against the scum @ 417 726 4096. There are very similar numbers also involved with this scam. The more people that let them know if you are contacted by these scamming scumbags, the better they can go after them. Take a few minutes to contact your senators, representatives, phone carriers & ANY of the many agencies to help stop robo-calls. Or put up with this crap more & more. Your call. Pardon the pun.

They called and asked if my estranged father whom I haven't talked to in over 15 years would be available for legal document delivery.
When I called them back to ask how they got my number....the number was no longer in service.

They called me today..I answered the call said I have legal documents. When I questioned them about being from mercy Joplin they said they will call the phone company because that was supposed to be changed..do not give them any information!!

Left no message.

They have called and when I pick up, they hang up actually. Then I got a message from a bit asking if I would like a "celebrity voice" to answer my damn calls!! I responded to the bot with "STOP" and it replied with "removed from list". I then tried sending a text to the 4096 number and the bot number replied saying that the message to 4096 can't be sent! WTF is this phone number?

This number has called my home multiple times and never leaves a message. I never answer my landline but let my answering machine get it, (keeps my blood-pressure down this way lol) and I never give out my cell phone number. It's just for family and my doctors so I don't have very many scammer call on it and block any unknown numbers that do try calling it. Wish I could do that on my landline without costing me extra. I guess they like to wasting their time calling my answering machine.

Called today looking for an ex that I haven't seem in years.. when I called the number right back said it wasn't a working number..

Another update. Since my last post March 29th 2017 they called back again May 3rd May 8th June 12th and June 15th. 2017. They called back again May 3rd May 8th June 12th and June 15th. I spoke with the actual Mercy Hospital again June 12th 2017 and got an incident number. They said they had gotten many many more complaints since I had called last. June 15th 2017 I called Missouri attorney general no call list complaint number, spoke with an actual person who said that they were well aware of this number having a vast amount of complaints against it and they would have an investigator look into it further. Never heard anything back from the actual Mercy Hospital in Joplin  or the Missouri State Attorney General's office. Caller ID at 5:42 p.m. today said Mercy Joplin 417 726 4096 but they left no message. They have NEVER left a message since the first time they called January 31st 2017 & a robotic voice said they had a complaint against me & left a number to call, which I didn't because I had never been to Mercy hospital in Joplin. Again I have no dealings whatsoever with Mercy Healthcare and I've had my home number since September 2001. Don't know who they are but like my last post they can go kick rocks! You don't leave a message that means you're a poor excuse for any type of business & on the advice of the Missouri Attorney general's office "if you don't know the name or number DON'T ANSWER! If they don't leave a message its almost always a nuisance call"

Update. They called again May 4th. They're persistent, thats for sure! Since my last post they've called again March 22nd, April 9th & 25th. Since this whole saga started they haven't left a message since March 1st 2017 but have call at least 10 more times!

This scam is new to you, it seems like a big thing, but with all due respect, this same sort of scam is repeated and reported on this and other sites 100's of times a day. In reality, the Fake Hospital Billing Con is not a big scam, I doubt it cracks the top 20 in terms of volume.  Your number is probably in their auto-dialer rotation and the calls will continue.

Ignore the calls, block the number.  You have reported the phone number here as being linked to a scam, and that is a help to others.  You have informed the hospital and contacted the state DA.  You have done all you can, you can now move on to protecting your privacy and reclaiming your phone.

-- The state AG may not be able to act or investigate, esp if the calls are coming from out of the US.  Even out the the state is a problem.  The crooks know this.  The real hospital is not going to go after the crooks, that is not their line of business and they don't have the power to stop the calls.  They are able to tell you have no outstanding bills in their system, and I am guessing that is exactly where their interest ends.  If you are being contacted by crooks, I suppose they don't consider that their problem.

I received a call from this number asking if my sister (they provided her name) was available for signature and delivery of legal papers.  I told them they had the wrong number and hung up.

I received a call at my office from this number. I asked what it was regarding and she said she was just a "courtesy call" and they needed me for a document delivery that had been rejected at my home. I asked why they were calling my office and she said because it was the number the number they have. But could not tell me what it was about.
