Caller ID for 417-942-1693 showed SPRINGFIELD, MO. The call just now came in on my fax line but it apparently was a voice call because the call failed.

Just called four minutes ago at 12:18 pm cst left no message

Just now got a call from this number. Did not recognize the number & no message left on answering machine, so it is now blocked forever. Until phone companies do something about trash calls, legitimate companies and fund raisers will suffer big time -- especially those who do not have enough sense to leave messages.

Called twice, back to back.

Called at 12:12 p.m. on 6/16/15. Did not leave a message. I blocked this caller since I do not recognize this number.

I answerd the call the recording started..."Seniors are paying to much"......click.

Caller ID says : M S R S Collins  .  No clue who they are or what they want.
Our answering machine says: Due to the number of sales calls we receive, we screen our calls.   If you are a friend, say who you are & we'll pick up.  If we don't pick up,, leave a message & we'll call you back when we return. "
Some folks do not bother to listen to the message.  Their loss.

Call from this number showed M S R S COLLINS. No message left in voice mail.  I am blocking the number.

Called but I did not answer.  No message left.

From Springfield MO. HAs called every morning for the past 5 days. I don't answer, and they don't leave a message.

Robocall about if you are paying too much for Medicare supplement, press 1. When pressing 1 it asked to leave the name of your current carrier. My current carrier is "I'm on the do not call list and reporting you to the FTC,"

No message left, caller ID said MSRS Collins. I am on the do not call list and I have an unlisted number. How do they get my number?

If you ever posted your phone number on a social site, or used it when ordering online, or otherwise typed it in an insecure computer, or gave it to a friend whose computer was attacked, or filled out an entry form at a fair or a supermarket, or used it on a contest entry form, or were among those whose information was hacked from some organization, or obtained a "new" phone number ... your number is probably known to the scammers.

Allow me to present another possibility in a very simple fashion ... not to insult your intelligence, but to attempt to get the idea across to even those who have difficulty understanding more complicated answers.

I want you to think "0" instead of "10".  Got it?
Now, get a piece of paper and a pen or pencil, and write down those 10 numbers.  Here, I will help you, in case your forgot:

Now get ready to write down some more numbers.  I want you to write them down in the following format:
ABC-DEF-GHIJ
Yes, I know those are letters, but I want you to use numbers, instead.
Think of a number between 0 and 9 ... pick one from the list I gave above, if you wish.
Write it down, instead of the "A", above
Do that nine more times, writing it down instead of the other letters.
Now, look at the result.
Does it ring a bell?
It should, because you just wrote down a phone number!

Mr Computer is very good at making numbers.
Mr Computer can do what you just did in a fraction of a second.
In other words, Mr Computer can make and dial phone numbers VERY quickly.

Spammers and scammers who know about Mr Computer do not need to register and buy the DNC list.
Spammers and scammers who know about Mr Computer can even dial "unlisted" numbers, or "private numbers" or "brand-new numbers you just got"!
The DNC list is not a magic switch that blocks these calls from reaching your phone.  It is merely a list.

There, now you know all about how spammers can dial YOUR phone number, even if it is unlisted, and even if only relatives know it, and even if it is on or off the DNC list.

I hope that helps prove the DNC list DOES work!  It helps prevent calls from registered / legitimate telemarketers, but it is not able to stop calls from telespammers.  It is also NOT designed to stop political callers (who usually get the numbers from voter registration lists), calls from charities, or some other companies, such as debt collectors.

I am on the NO CALL LIST.  I do not talk to strangers.  I screen calls with answering machine the majority of the time.  I do miss legitimate calls sometimes, and have to call back.  Idiot calls are disruptive as you do have to check the ID caller to make sure you are not missing a call from a family member.  Caller ID for 417-942-1693 showed M S R S Collins SPRINGFIELD, MO.  These Idiot callers hang up without leaving messages. it is a scam to get your financial information.

Caution, 417 942-1693 is a "spoofed" number, which means that whoever called you "tricked" your caller ID to display an incorrect phone number. Legitimate callers leave messages and they do not use spoofing. Unethical telemarketers do this so you cannot complain.

I never answer the phone out of area and only if they leave a message that sounds reasonable.  I do not give out personal information on phone anyway so they are wasting their time with us.  We are NOT interested in unethical telemarketers.  Legitimate people leave messages and do not play games.  So, quit calling 815 area code and quit bothering us...because we are only going to hang up on you!!!!!!!

So many of these unwanted calls that I think soon I ll be ridding myself of my landline. It s a shame the phone companies do nothing about these call

So what happens when they start calling your cell phone.  Will you get rid of that also?  I guess that would solve the problem of unwanted calls, no phone at all.
