Foreigners claiming to be CRA. Sure it's more scammers

A robot caller - recorded message that sounded like a person claiming to be from Revenue Canada and urgently requires you to call a specific #.....(East Indian accent - and claimed his name was english both first and last something like Gary Stevenson....... not sounding real.....very excited and wouldn't be interrupted by my verbal and Touch Tone buttons.

Likely related to Similar to a human call I received from "Microsoft" asking me to visit a website address..... In this case I knew that I had no current dealings with Microsoft and why they would be phoning me.?...... I asked to be removed from the list and the Agent was assuring me this was not a scam....... His supervisor called me back to share that the call was not a scam...... I asked him if he liked to do bad things to people for a living....he too was insisting I call a specific Number to resolve my complaint....... looks like the govt is not doing enough..... could easily fool a senior as they are forceful in the manor of both calls.

a call from a gentlemen, with accent South Asian Man.  Asked the phone answerer to call them at their phone #.

I got called from this number twice today, it sounds like a recorded message from possibly south east Asian accented man who claims this is an urgent issues and he wishes a good luck if I don't call him back. He claims his name is something like James Larson.

Aid they were from CRA.

They call 2 to 3 times a day

It's a scam.  Don't call them
Ignore it

Luckily I was on the other line. I know full well that the CRA doesn't randomly contact people via telephone, and I'm glad other callers have not only realized this but reported the calls. I'll be blocking this number.

It's Cra, they were very helpful. I still owed taxes and the gentleman offered to save me a trip to the bank. All I had to give him was my SIN #, which luckily I know off by heart and then he processed the amount owning to my credit card. Great customer service!

The caller does have a thick French accent. But I guess that's expected seeings he is calling from Quebec.

This is a serious scam with people pretending to be with the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency). They threaten arrest by the RCMP, advising you owe back taxes and are being sued. First, the CRA does not contact people about back taxes by phone, nor do they threaten arrest. These sorry excuses for human beings also demand payment by credit card, prepaid credit card or access to your bank account. The CRA doesn't accept payment by prepaid credit card that I'm aware of, nor credit card. They also tell you that the "claim" is a criminal matter. FYI - back taxes are a TAX matter, not criminal or civil. These criminals depend on people being scared and intimidated by their threats of arrest and the aggressive tone they use. I was informed it was "Officer --- from the CRA". I explained that I knew full well that he wasn't an officer of any kind or employed by the CRA. His response? "Yes, I am!" That was enough to make me laugh. I hope no one is taken in by this amateur scam or the disgusting people involved.

Didn't ask for anybody just rambled on about calling him back . myself or my lawyer should call him or good luck to me if we don't call. He said he is Officer James Morrison . By the sound of his east Indian accent I hardly think he is a Morrison.
