Caller ID came up with this number.Stopped answering the phone if I don't recognize the number on caller ID. Another number to just block. They didn't even leave message. Came up on CID as "web ranking",yeah right!

All I heard was due to the high crime rate in your area GE  wants to do something install I don't know what Hung up.

I do not answer calls on my cell or house phone when I don't recognize the number.  No messages are ever left so that shows you how important the call is.  

Continually get calls from his number, which I no longer answer; someone needs to find a way to stop all this nonsense.

Tired of calls from these asshats using different numbers. This one showing as "WEB RANKING" on the caller ID.
If they were legitimate why would they be cycling through phone numbers and using nonsense caller ID info.
Even if they are legit, we are on the Do Not Call lists so they have no business calling here anyway.

"Web Ranking" on CID, so I was hoping it was another Indian scammer calling me because my Windows was messed up; the last one was very entertaining. No such luck; just dead air.

What makes these people think I'm going to use a "security system" from a company that has no compunctions about violating Federal law just by calling me?

This [vulgarity removed] rang the phone at 9pm last night waking me from a sound sleep. all 419 numbers are now blocked with my Panasonic phone system. Why can't the government do something about this  [vulgarity removed]!

CID is Web Ranking. No other ID offered. This robocall claims that due to higher crime in my neighborhood, GE Security would pay...press '1' if I was willing to place a small solar sign in my yard...

Why can't you curb your vulgarity when you know the site disallows it? Why can't you do your part by finding and suing your illegal sales callers? Why can't you report those callers to the FTC so "da gubment" can "do something"? Why can't you take ten minutes to see that fraudulent alarm system sellers have already been spanked in federal courts?

[***] called me a 20:38  (8:38 PM) last night.

I have reported many numbers, but they have continued to call month after month.  "Da Gubment" is either totally incompetent or doesn't give a rats behind.

A totally incompetent FTC would not take so many fraudulent businesses to court each year and would not conduct studies to expose and define the major problems consumers face in an unfair marketplace. There are at most three dozen staffers who have time and resources to handle telefrauds, which is but one problem out of hundreds the Commission must address. There is no Bunko Squad ready to slide down fire poles and kick in the doors of every phone fraud every time you personally receive an illegal call. As discussed countless times on this site, many such criminals are harbored behind international boundaries and coddled by corrupt governments which do not share the American hatred of parasitic schemers.

So again, some of that job of enforcement falls to *EACH OF US*. Filing complaints helps the greater good but will not magically silence your phones. AGAIN, if you want personal attention, hire a lawyer or study the TCPA yourself and thrash your own offenders.

CID is 'Fremont OH' today here in Georgia.  They didn't leave any message.  If it's the burglar alarm deal, its an old, tired scam.

Caller I.D. was "Web Ranking".  Area code is Toledo, Ohio. Voicemail left was for putting a "small sign" in your front yard (presumably for a home security system) although the reason was not mentioned.  Bottom line.....another illegal telemarketing/scam call.  

1./06 10:12 PST No ID, no answer from me.  Message claims to be from GE Home Security, claiming there have been a number criminal break in reports for my area and if I agree to allowing a small sign to be displayed on my front lawn, I can have a home security system installed for free.  YEAH, RIGHT!  First, and foremost, I already have a security system and second, I no long trust anyone who does not provide an ID when calling.  Will be reporting since this is an obvious robotic call.  Message is a male voice going on and on to my voice mail.

I don't answer any unID'd calls anymore and was almost surprised there was an actual message left until I realized that it was just another in the unending list of robotic calls.  All we can do is refuse to answer and maybe, eventually,  we will prevail.

Funny thing really I get a fair amount of these annoying "illegal" calls daily, but what they do not realize I'm disabled and having the amount of time I do on my hands due to this, I spend "fun" time by calling many of them back, of course some have the robot system which is fine, but the human ones are the best to mess with after all. By calling them and sucking up time they are using to (scam/harass) people. I call them only to ask them if they would like to make payments to my bills. They of course decline my requests and hang up, only to receive another call from me, asking if they would like to again make payments to my bills. About the 3rd time they are angry and cussing up a storm, to which I reply to them, "doesn't feel good when the shoe is on the other foot does it. Now again would you like to make payments on my bills." By the fourth call they never call back. There are many ways to look at these calls. Robot ones not so fun. Off chance you get a person only means the fun times will start rolling once you've gotten under their skin. Its also likely after I've done this so much, most of these calls are made by a single person per number, so example to that would be one number will have a robot with a person waiting behind it to direct calls to make it seem like its a "call center" however untrue in most cases. Most of these people calling you are sitting on their couch thinking of new schemes. Though there are call centers and even still the people there are fun to mess with even if I'm the only one having fun.

However its up to anyone of you to look at it as annoying or not. Each call I've made has never lasted 5mins before the person caught on to the whole scheme I put in place to annoy them which only aggravates them more. Playing dumb however is by far the best way to really draw out the calls. But more time I waste for them means the less people they annoy. Not a big part by no means but it does bring satisfaction. And to further point out on my own experience with these types of calls, I don't see any real point in suing any one of these people making these calls, only to waste the judge's time in court when these types of calls come a dime a dozen.
