Used to get this call on my cell about carpet cleaning from a 415 number--I blocked it and now it is coming from this number.  Does being on the DNC list mean anything?

Yes, but only to legitimate and honest business's unfortunately. It isn't going to stop criminals and illegal callers from calling you!  Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

Just robo called [number in OH] offering me carpet cleaning in Ca!

I'm on the DNC list and they are now on my blocked caller list.

They called from one number, then another, I asked them to stop. Last time I pressed #1, "To make an appointment", when I asked how I could get them to stop, she just hung up on me.
No one has answered either number since then, there's only a recording saying to press a # to get them to stop calling.
Though, if that worked, we wouldn't be here.
I've filed all complaints to appropriate officials.
Now I'm going to just loathe them from afar...until they call again...and they will.

This is becoming a daily duty. almost everyay I get a call from this number.Very annoying, they don't say a word.

I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.  However, they have called before, and I noticed another post commented they were using another number, selling carpet cleaning services, which I have also gotten a lot of.  Anyway, I decided to call the number on caller ID and got a recording that said the promotion I was calling about is no longer available (I had no idea what they were talking about), but I was eligible for a $100 promotion or something like that - then it gave me options of which one was to be removed from their calling list.  So I took it and will see if that makes any difference.  Clearly, they are probably the source of a lot of unsolicited nuisance calls............but at least I know it is a real number and will block it if they call back (I get 20 blocks with my AT&T service).

Like a previous post, I'm in California.  The 419 area code is in Ohio.
I'm not about to believe this was a telemarketer offering to drive across the country to clean my carpets.
More likely, a scammer offering to clean my bank account.

I don't answer unrecognized area codes on this phone line. No message left. I always Google the number and check 800Notes.com.

Received 2 calls to me cell today (Friday, 4/24) as follows:
- (419) 208-7987, Fremont, OH
- (347) 482-6842, NY, USA

Neither left Voicemail or message.  Do Not Call list does not work for telemarketers or Robocalls.  Appears their computers and/or equipment automatically dial numbers in numerical order.  Recently I think either got a call w/ no msg from either Verizon or another provider. Cannot remember as Google search indicated it was a marketing call.  Therefore just deleted it.

same experience as the last poster - Used to get these robocalls from Diane in the 415 area, but today got the same call from 419. How could they clean my carpet from across the country? I suspect that the idiot sending these calls mis-typed 419 instead of 415.

Want to have some fun with these clowns?  Stay on the line and wait to talk to a human.  Once your connected, identify yourself as the night manager for the largest hotel in your city.  Tell the operator that the President of the United States is arriving this coming Sunday and you need every carpet cleaned between midnight and 6 am om Friday night.  Tell them you need every available carpet cleaner to report to the front desk.  Also, be sure to ask if they offer a discount for jobs requiring 400 carpets to be cleaned.

Like the others, I got a recorded message for a cleaning service and was told to press 1 to make an appointment.  I am in California.  the number is calling from Toledo, Ohio.  The robocalls and robocall hangups are so frequent that I do not/cannot answer my phone anymore.   I filed a complaint for this number with the FCC and I hope everyone else does the same.  It takes a lot of complaints before they will act.

Carpet cleaning robo call that is a scam. Company comes in moves furniture and may do one room. Then asks for a check and they will be back tomorrow and that is the last you see of them and your money. Company uses the following phone numbers: 419-208-7987,702-754-4577,702-867-5309,725-676-7889,725-696-2118,928-299-5063, and 928-299-5108

Did not answer and they did not leave a message. No reason to get calls from Ohio.

Called my cell 11:49 a.m. PST 10/12/15.  I didn't recognize number and didn't pick up.  They didn't leave a message.  Incidentally, I just read an article about scammers, how they pay for these lists of telephone numbers (of which I must be on, obviously) and, how they prey on folks, particularly the elderly.  Cretins.  This is the 39th phone number that I have blocked.  The madness!
