this person (JOY FRUTH) said that they wanted to buy the piano i was saling on criagslist and wanted to use paypal for the transaction. after a copule of days of working out the details i sent this person (JOY FRUTH) a request for funds thur paypal  and they replied that i have to go to western union and send $500 out of my pocket to the moving company and that the $1200 that would be released to my paypal to cover for the cost of the piano and the moving company. But i had to pay the moving company first. All and all it was a scam. i never sent the money and also contact paypal about the scam and they did confirm the scam. they never got my info or money. PayPal does not need western union all transactions will show pending or hold if you are expecting money from someone for an item that you are selling. do not fall for this scam.

Thank you for your post as I was contacted today and texted from 786-322-1210 by an individual inquiring about a guitar I have posted on craigslist. They wanted me to email Joy Fruth @outlook.com with firm pricing. I was contacted back by an individual claiming to be Joy Fruth stationed at Cheyenne Mtn Airforce Base wanting to send money to me via paypal.

The same thing happened to me.  Shortly after I posted an ad for my piano for sale I was text by an number that told me to e-mail Joy Fruth.  I hesitantly did so.  The response from "Joy" gave me this story about being at an army base in CO.  "She" was eager to close the sale and told me to disclose my paypal information (thankfully I don't have one).  She told me to close the craigslist ad right away.  However when I looked at "her" e-mail closer, the address wasn't the same that I had originally e-mailed and google told me to belonged to a "Bob Son".  After looking into it further I found more people that either had been scammed or almost was.

Send the excess fund to the shipping agent as soon as you see
this email and get back to us with the receipt of the   western union money Transfer , so that we can verify it and credit your account with immediate effect.



We need to prove beyond all  reasonable doubts   that you are legitimate and that's why we need you to send us a proof of this transaction in order to secure the buyer from fraud.

Yup! Joy fruth, tryn to buy my guitar, wanted me ro take the ad down, gonna use paypal, stationed in co. I could trust her she said, i kept messaging to see how far the scum was gonna go and the answer is very. I said cash only, she" cant leave the base and paypal is the only way. I said how u gonna get it, she" claimed she would have it picked up, i said send cash with them, ignored that comment and kept on with paypal... 3 days this scammer has been emailing me. So look out. U will get a text sayn email her and then it begins.

Yes, that Joy is a busy little army scammer.  Came from 419-718-1961. Many same details for my Craig's List violin.  Too many sketchy details & broken Engrish.  This did not sound legit:
"My choices are limited and not often available on phone. I am a loyal
woman and you gotta have your money cash at hand before they pick up.
It easy and free to open a paypal account. go to www.paypal.com &
register an account. Paypal is the world leading payment that protects
both buyer/seller. We are secure with paypal and it's like an instant
cash. I will be deploying a pick up firm as soon as we have completed
and finalized this deal via Paypal.kindly get back to me with your
Paypal info asap."

I did not have my phone number in the posting, so "Joy" was contacting me via email.  She says she is on base in Co in the army and wants to use paypal.  A quick google search brought me here so I replied that I was onto the scam and will be reporting it.

Same here. Joy from Cheyenne Mountain Air Force base in Colorado after my Electronic Keyboard posted on Craigslist! "She" couldn't even write an email in good English!

Thanks for your posts.  First a 954 area code person texted me and asked me to email Joy.  I did and I got the whole military story.  By the way,  Cheyenne is an Air Force facility. She called it an Air Force "station" which is not the appropriate terminology.  This is a scam

They used the name Joy Fruth with a cell number of 912 235 0806.  I was on to them right away.  Too bad they can't be caught

yup - A Joy Fruth texted me also about a piano from 561-331-0384 and that she is with the army and to reply to e-mail charhil31@gmail. After an internet search, I told them to " Go F*** Themselves"

1-848-565-2117. The Fruthster is workin' overtime. After my ad went on CL, she came a trollin'. My gut said NO, I called her a HO, an' kick da' B out da DOE. Sad...whatta waste of time. GRRRRRrrrr

Joy text me 1hr after my ad went up on craigslist.  Same thing, wanted me to do the "Paypal" thing.  I called her bluff and asked her what was she going to do with a 4K designer toilet/bidet in the army?  She kept calling it an "item".  
I think she is running a phone line through a Magic Jack that's why there's so many different phone numbers.

Add a tuba to Joy's wanting to buy. Language was broken and many misspelled words. Just sounded wrong. Got it by text asking me to contact her via a gmail account. A load of bull. Thanks for posting these folks it helps!

Yes he/she tried  to  scam  a sale   for  my mandolin today. Sleazy.

She came calling for my guitar today, said to Email her at charhil31@gmail.com  Said based in Cheyenne, wanted to use PayPal and to have the ad taken down right away.  She came from several different numbers 848-565-2117 and 347-345-2280, bad English. Very busy scammer!
