called but left no message

Called my house and told my 12 yr old daughter that was home alone, that they were going to break into my house in the next 15 mins. On 12/1/2011

it was No telemarketer, It came from a pre paid cell phone, that was shut off yesterday. through Verizon

Number called me at 9:12am on December 1st.  I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.

Called 12-30 PM--did not leave a message.

Called, No message

Called, it was an automated system that says the FBI estimates that there is a break in every 15 minutes.  It's an offer for a "free" security system.  Press 1 if you are interested and 2 if you are not.  I've pressed 2 on at least 3 calls and 1 on 1 call and no one picks up...but they keep calling back.  It's not even noon and I've gotten 3 calls.  Sometimes it's from this number, sometimes from other numbers.  Any idea who I can report this to?  I want it to stop.

In addition to picking option #2, I have picked option #1 and told multiple people to stop calling me. They hang right up and the machine keeps calling.

So I now have taken a new approach of getting a person and wasting as much of their time as I can before they hang up.

I too take their time up.  I act as interested as I possibly can, give them a fake name, and then provide them with my phone number for the call back from their regional 'agent'.  HOWEVER, the number I provide is actually for the police department in my city.  Maybe if the police department gets enough calls from these b*stards, they will follow up with measures that us, the general public, have been unable to use.

They have called my house at least a dozen times and every time it's a different number with the exact same message. It's soo irritating!!! Does anyone know how to make it stop???

Great idea, I'll have to try that. I have use the local FBI phone number and address for ebay and craigs list scammers.

I found out that you can call the FTC and file a fraud complain. The number is 877-382-4357.

Received call...when I answered, there was a dial tone. The call was immediately followed by a call from 201.200.8722 which was a recording selling alarm systems. These numbers must be connected.

Unwanted calls

Another bogus telemarketer for security systems.  Must be the season.  ATI also called today from 5022544524 to pitch security systems too.  Might be a connection

Called at 5 p.m. and the answering machine got it - no message left.  I don't have time for this :(

Also rec'd calls from a Utah # for security systems yesterday.  Coincidence?

Called my home at 8:30 p.m. but did not leave a message.  I recognize the number as they've called before and left the "break-in every 15 minutes" message.  I also rec'd two calls this morning from "ATI" (same number posted by Billy Bob, above).  So annoying!

They said I had won a free alert for someone that had fallen, but you have to buy a security system contract to use the alert system.

This number is not a valid number.  I called and Verizon said the number had been disconnected or changed.  Not wise to give any information out.

They wanted me to give information.  I told them if they give me their number I will call them back.  It was 954-772-1213.  That number was not valid either.

I love the idea to use FBI/Police phone and address.  Could I be arrested?
