I got a call today, with a person with an Indian accent claiming to be calling from "Royal Canadian Mounted Police".  He said that there was an arrest warrant in my name.

I recognized the area code 424 to belong to Southern California, USA - Beverly Hills, Malibu, Compton - so obviously I was intrigued with what new scam these guys were pulling.

After the first person told me that he was going to pass me on to his supervisor.  I simply said "ok".  After a brief wait another person comes on, introducing himself as so and so from the Fraud ... Department.  I asked him about his rank, to which he replied he was Legal Counsel.

I asked him where his office was, he replied "Ontario, Canada" which sounded like he was trying to read it.  I asked him where in Ontario his office was, there was a pause and then the phone got disconnected.

Evidently, these scammers claimed to call from a Canadian Police Force with a number from California.

Have already reported it to the RCMP Anti-Fraud Department.
