Repeated calls regarding an alleged debt of a city employee.  Callers are harassing and rude.  They have been notified they are in violation of the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act by continuing to call a work number after being notified it is such, but they continue to call.

What exactly are the thugs being told? Scofflaw collectors can be maddeningly selective in their reading of the FDCPA. The agency calls to PoE remain legal until it "has reason to know" they are unwelcome. Merely stating it's a place of employment is too faint a hint for people trained to rudely seize assets. Phrases like "stop calling here", "not permitted", and "against company policy" should invoke the FDCPA provision properly. The hunted person can sue for relief if the agency continues to disobey.

The Company is CTI...Caller has Indian accent and VERY rude! Calls harassing my job and my co-workers. When told I was not permitted to take calls and to stop calling, they started calling every 2 minutes! Laughing and using foul language. Saying they were going to get me fired. My boss blocked the number and it stopped. But it started up AGAIN! How do I get rid of these people? I don't know CTI. He says is was concerning my social security number for a bounced check. I DONT HAVE A CHECKING ACCOUNT! I haven't written a check in over 10 years!

Try calling the number back non-stop - this will also tie up their phone lines.  Just say "wrong number" they answer.  Worked effectively with another company that tried to tie us up.

ive been getting calls from leroy thompson and mark messy at 323-456-4399 and 424-240-8942 at my job.  they are talking rude, cursing and yelling on the phone.  after I found out this was a scam, I told them that I was not taking calls from them anymore and they could take to my lawyer or the fbi.  they told me to shut the f*** up and they wasn't taking to anyone but me. they called all phone lines at my job every 2 minutes.

Today, at work, I received a call from 424-240-8942.  The guy sounded foreign but said his name was James and then connected me with his supervisor who was named Mike.  Mike said I owed money for an on-line unpaid payday loan in 2011 from Cash Advance and they tried to take it out by EFT, but the bank refused and they were going to take me to court if I didn't settle the matter.  I never got an payday advance on-line.  It was scary because they had my social security number and date of birth and also my email address.  I asked them to send something in writing and they said the email is what they send as correspondence.  I just hung up on them, but I'm sure they are going to call back.
