Received a recorded message saying they were from irs.

Automated message said "This call is officially a final notice from IRS. The reason of this call is to inform you that the IRS is filing lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file please call immediately on our department number.

Got 2 of these calls this moring.  Anyone know what scam this is?

I just got my 2nd call from these people.  This is a scam!!!  THE IRS SENDS LETTERS IN THE MAIL!

They called and said they were the IRS and I needed a criminal lawyer.  He said I had over $4,000 show up on a tax audit (that was never done).  He said it was from the 2008 taxes.  I asked him to identify the name the taxes were filed under and he couldn't do it.

Two calls from this number today on my cell phone and two calls from a 202 area code on my home line.  Same thing being said - the IRS is coming after me.  Yea....okay, good one.  Now stop calling me!

Same thing with me guys. Anyone know how to stop it?

IRS SCAM apparently.  It was a cold computer call asking me to call immediately due to me being sued by the IRS.  I did not call.

same thing  here from  an Everett wa number saying sherriff  would be here with in  the hour and I  owed 6,000 from 2008 to  2013 they called twice  I  did  speak to the sheriffs  dept and they also have the  number

Folks this is a scam.  Don't even call them back.  I have what is called fraud alert and it tells you all the new scams out there.  This is one of them, but these clowns are also sending letters in the mail.  If you do get one in the mail just call the IRS I am sure they will tell you if they sent it, but don't call the number on the letter head cos the scam also uses a false number to call.  Be smart don't fall for this crap.  I don't even answer the phone anymore unless I know the number.  Saves me a lot of my blood pressure from going up.  At 6 pm I put my phone on no ring.  I can still answer the phone cos it flashes.  I can't be bothered.

This is definitely a scam. My husband received a call. My husband is a character and gave him a hard time. Called him a foreign goat fu...er scamer and don't call again. He hung up only to have the scamer call back and direct him to an address so he can trade his man parts for a female part. Of course we had a good laugh. But my husband is not letting him off the hook. He just calls him back to harass him. Needless to say, the scamer is getting pissed off for tying up his line.

Received call stating they were the URS and I there was a lawsuit filed against me.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

same here got this tonight at 8:55 pm but have also received it from another number same message irs is filing a law suit against me.  the other number is 509-331-5213 and received 2 calls on the same day.

Same scam call, called twice on 10/26.
