- JoanLeft a message this morning. Nobody spoke, but there was a lot of background noise (people talking ("Hi, I'm... and I'm calling from...", sneezing, coughing, etc.) like a call center.
- Sum Ting Wong| 1 replyLots of noise, called 5 times in a row because she kept dropping the phone call, not me. Said they are with a company called "29 Prime" looking to put me on Google's, Bing and Yahoo's front page for my business, the lady was the 12th person who called this month and it's only the 19th of March, she said a space just opened up? And began to tell me this is the only way to grow my business for $30 a month? If it's such a good deal how did a space just open up?

- Dbrundle replies to Sum Ting WongIt's fake sales.... a scam. Their sole purpose is to get your info and cc #. Google, bing, Mozilla etc do not make cold calls they send an email and/or 2 for 1 offer via usmail to show/prove their identity.
- AaronYeah complete scam. They called and said something about Google. Then they asked me to confirm my business info, and listed my business name and address. Then passed me to 'marketing' and this guy started telling me he could get me on the front page of Google, Yahoo, and Bing for $150 a month which confirmed my suspicion that this was a scam. So I told him I couldn't handle the extra business at this point, and to give his company name so I could contact them in the future, and he said "We'll send it to you." And I asked how he planned on doing that and he hung up on me. Wonder how many people fall for this.
- Caller: ?
- JasonThe guy called from a very loud call center - kept wanting me to verify my business info and pre-qualify me. Wouldn't tell me his company name, just said he was from Google, Yahoo and Bing - does he think I'm an idiot?
- Call type: Telemarketer
- ArchiBishRude. Said he wanted to help me with my Google Listing between bites of food. Loud call center. I told him I didn't need help and he hung up on me mid-sentence before I could ask to be put on their do-not-call list.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- not a foolSame thing. Loud call center. I asked where he was and he said "Irvine, CA". He was actually surprisingly polite, but I agree that this is a complete scam and now how Google etc sell these services. He did say that Google had authorized them to do this.
English definitely a second language for this dude.- Call type: Telemarketer

- Ms. IowaCouldn't pronounce my name firstly. Then told me that they worked for Google Maps, Bing, Etc. and just wanted to verify some info about my small business...Couldn't pronounce my name again or "Iowa." Wanted my zip code and name of my business. Then asked how many years I was in business, and I refused to answer that asking what it had to do with Maps. Then he said, "There's no need to worry, I just want to verify some information about your business." I said, "I don't want to answer that question, and I can refuse to answer any of your questions." "There's no need to worry at all, I just want to know about your business." "Then ask me a different question." "So you won't tell me how many years you've been in business?" "NO."
Ok ma'am thanks for your time. Bye.
I don't have time for this crap.- Call type: Telemarketer
- AMTotal scam. They called me saying they were with Google and said something about how my business displays on Google Maps. They wanted me to verify some of my business information and I hung up on them.

- Anti-TeleMarketerWhat will it take to cut this stuff from continuing. I have told them they have a wrong number at least 5 or more times. Why won't the FTC fine them or go after them? They pull numbers off business web sites with number fishing programs and harrassingly try to sell some scam web promotion deal for $150 or more.

- Very AnnoyedVery pushy woman with a thick accent. Lots of background noise. Wanted info about my business. Said something about Google Maps. Asked my name, our address, how many years in business, etc. I demanded to know the name of her company and she said "Global Tech." I kept asking her questions when she kept asking me questions and she said "No need to worry. I'm almost done. I just want to verify some info." She was trying to find out how much we spend on web advertising and if we wanted to get on the front page of Google searches. I said I don't quite trust this phone call and need more info about HER and her company. She just kept saying "No need to worry" and kept asking her questions in a very pushy way without offering more info about her company, until I finally hung up. Seems very fishy.
- Caller: Global Tech
- TransTerpMissed call with no message, but thanks to the comments before mine, I "add to contacts" as "spam" and then mark that contact as "blocked" on my cellphone. That way it never rings from that number again. My list of blocked numbers is growing longer...
