Originally it was a recording stating that they were calling from cardholder services and wanted to offer to lower my interest rates. I dialed 1 to get through to the person to get them to remove me from their calling list…knowing that no bank would ever call on the phone and request personal information for this purpose.
When I told the woman that I didn’t trust to do this over the phone, but she was more than welcome to send me information in the mail, she went off on me. Some of the things that she said were:
“That is really sad that you live your life like that. Not everyone that calls is out to get you.”
“Your character is horrible.”
“You are an awful person. You should be ashamed of yourself for not trusting.”
“I hope you lose your job and end up on welfare.”
Then when I asked why she was treating me so horrible, she said “I’m giving you the same treatment you are giving me.” (Yeah right….)
I asked to speak to her supervisor, and she said “I AM THE SUPERVISER.”
I told her that no supervisor would speak to a ‘customer’ the way she was speaking to me.
She threatened to hang up several times, but never did. The only way I could get her off of the phone was to hang up on her.
A very upsetting and abusive phone call.

Please remember….no bank, credit card, etc will ever call you on your phone and ask for personal information. If you feel that it might be legit, ask them for the phone number to call them back at and for information to be sent in the mail.

Didn't pick up.  They didn't leave message.  Tried to call them back, but the number was busy.  I am on the DNC list....

This number calls my phone all the time and is very irrating and I consider it harassment. They do not leave a message and when I try to return the call it's just as the previous post says, it is always busy.

Ok - I get calls like these all the time ... and from different numbers.  The 'people' calling are very rude -- do not give them information.

However, what you CAN do, if you have a smartphone, there is an application that I have downloaded, called "Mr. Number".  It syncs with my contact list and I can BLOCK calls - report calls as spam - etc.  Although these a**holes use different numbers, they do use the same number to call you a few times so you can keep blocking the numbers.

card services called for like the 100th time.i'm on the no call list but they still keep [***] calling.what does one do.i want it stopped.

Keep getting calls...I usually do not answer numbers I do not recognize but I was waiting on a call that I knew I would not recognize the number for.  They stay on the line for a few seconds and hang up.  Can this be reported to someone and investigated.  After reading these posts, it sounds like a scam to steal your identity.  Its not an overseas number so they are here attempting to committ a crime.

They claim to be a cardholder service wanting to loweer my interest rates on a existing credit card, I have pressed the 1 a number of times to speak to someone (as they say to) and have them take me off the list but continually get a busy signal, when I try to call the number back, again, I get a busy signal. How can I stop these calls?

Called but did not leave a message. After these posts I will NEVER answer this number. Thanks for yhe heads up. Seems a lot of us got calls today.

I called the # this morning at 8 AM NY time. the number is based on the west coast. an answerin machine says this is the do not call directory. They aren't. they just want you to leave your # so they can
verify your# is legit. it is a scam.

I do not want to ever receive calls from this phone number again!

Folks, dn't answer calls from numbers that you don't recognize. Are you actually just that compelled to pick up the phone? Really? If your that lonely get a puppy. Understand this.... if you ANSWER the call they got you! If you do then don't be suprised if you keep getting calls from them and any other bottom feeding scam artist. Sure, complaining to donotcall may, or may not help. But its a start. If you have the ability to add the number to a blacklist in your phone then do so. Here's a thought... if you keep getting called by them (don't lie about it) try complaining to law enforcement in the area code from where the call originates. If they're calling from a land line (in this case that appears to be true) then it has a fixed location that can be traced. If enough people call the authorities in that area something *might* get done about it.

I just got a call from this number.  No one on the other end.  I save the number as telemarketer.  That way is they ever call back the caller ID alerts me and I just ignore the calls.  So far I've got about 7 telemarketer numbers stored.

I have to answer all calls because Verizon's Caller ID does NOT work unless I have pre-programmed the specific number into my own personal phone book. Therefore ALL calls come in as "Out of Area" or "Unknown" or "Unavailable."  

I am waiting urgent call backs from medical facilities that are not in my phone book.

So, yes I need to answer MY OWN PHONE.  I pay for MY OWN PHONE so I can have MY OWN PHONE service. I don't pay for [***] like this to torment me all day, every day. I never thought I wanted to murder anyone, but these [***] I do want to murder. Every day they call here with the same stupid scam, no matter that I have BEGGED them to give it a rest.
