I answered the phone by mistake...was expecting a call re. an appliance repair. The guy asked for me by name and wanted to discuss their home improvement program. I hung up.

politicians, name unavailable, short surveyors, anonymous, out of area, scammers, liars, robo-callers, and other entities that have wasted their limited time here on Earth by calling my heavily screened phone without leaving a message.

If I liked your politics even though you got caught breaking the law and then lying about it, I would already know about you and might vote for you anyway if you are less of a crook than your opponent.

If your name is out of area, anonymous, or unavailable, then so am I.

When your script stars with “this is not a sales call” and then you proceed to try to sell me something,  how can I believe anything that you say afterwards? I have never even met you before and you start our conversation out by lying to me.

Yes, I will be glad to participate in a short survey. My fee for giving you information that you will later sell is $2.00 a question with a minimum of 25 questions. How would like to pay for that? I accept Mastercard and PayPal.

If my computer is causing you problems by calling your server in India, maybe you should think about a better and more secure OS for your server like Linux or what I use, Mac OSX.

It’s not just for thinkers anymore.

I never answer any calls. All of my friends know that if they leave a message I will call them right back if I am home. If other people really wanted to speak to you they would leave a message.
