Collection agency for Capital One Credit Card

This individual number is calling a house that i do not live in. I have not lived in the house for over 5 years and the new owners have contacted me,I am not happy and neither are the people that have no involvment in this issue.

I have been getting a call from this phone number. He says his name is Russell Green and he's a debt collector from US Bank. He calls my job 2-3 times a day as well as my cell phone multiple times a day. It's been going on for 2 months and he's getting nasty. He actually called my neighbor and told her that he didn't have a phone number for me and saw on the internet that she was my neighbor. He even told her that he had offered us a deal to settle a personal debt and we were refusing to do it. When I called in a few minutes later to give him a piece of my mind, he hung up on my after I told him we are declaring bankrupcty. He yelled 'Fine' and slammed down the phone!

I've been having same problems with this guy Russell Green. Maybe it's time to take it to the next level. If he has gone so far as to involve your neighbors, then maybe you should get a free consultation from a lawyer. What he is doing isn't legal, its harassment. When he involved your neighbors that isn't legal either, you may be able to sue him for slander, malicious conduct and failing to keep confidentiality. A lawyer would be able to advise you more. I'm sorry to hear you are declaring bankruptcy. These are trying times. I wish you the best of luck.

auto dialer- when i called the number back, woman answered "Century Credit".  Appears to be debt collector where primary debt was sold to collection agency.  Bankrupcty law protects against this.  Created rule to "disconnect caller" and "stop processing rules".  That should eliminate calls from entity that has no legal authority anymore since they purchased this debt in hopes of obtaining some sort of payment. Cease and dessist.    

So basically they "bought" the debt from the original company or whatnot, and are a thirst party collection agency basically looking to make back the money they paid?
