- Informant| 8 repliesJust so you guys know, IHC is Intermountain Health Care. And they do NOT sell their debts. They gave their own collection agency, called RCS.
So, I am thinking that is this number is calling and saying they are from IHC collections, then this is a lie. You should Google RCS and call them, for any debt questions.- Caller: 434-878-9989
- eosilThis number keeps calling my Google Voice number, but I have never used that number in any of my business dealings, not even with IHC. So I have no idea how the people calling got this number. I have a do not disturb on my Google voice, so it can't get through to me, but if it were a real person, then I am sure they'd leave a message, but as others remarked, the caller doesn't. Must be telemarketing as I have never used my google voice number.

- swhollywd replies to Informant| 5 repliesIHC absolutely sales their debt to IC Systems. My mother-in-law was treated at Intermountain Medical Center, an IHC facility, while she was visiting Utah from Hawaii. The hospital couldn't seem to get the paperwork done properly so her insurance from Hawaii would pay. HMSA finally paid but not after dozens of calls from IC Systems. Even after we explained what was going on and when and how the debt would be paid they called. Multiple times a day, multiple times a week all in violation of collection laws. IHC has its own collection department but if your don't pay up you will hear from IC Systems sooner or later.
- BigA replies to swhollywd| 4 repliesInformant posted here 4 years ago, so possibly what it said is correct at that time. How does someone "sales" something? Now it could be that they simply turned the debt over to this company for collection. Under what law is there a restriction other than the time on the calls they make? Perhaps you need to do some research before posting comments. It would help you become a better person by actually knowing what you are talking about and would also help to prevent problems in the future.

List of State AG’s offices: http://consumerfraudreporting.org/stateattorneygenerallist.php - swhollywd replies to BigA| 3 repliesBy your comments you must be a troll for IC Systems. The sale of receivables is a common practice and IHC has a buy/sell agreement with IC Systems. Under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act there are many restrictions on collectors, which are ignored by them. Multiple contacts per day or week is one of them. We would discuss the account with an agent, and then hours later another would call on the same account. According to the Utah AG's office this falls under the harassment clause among others. In addition a certified letter was sent to IC Systems to discontinue the phone calls and conduct all business via mail. The letter was received but the phone calls never stopped, in fact they increased until HMSA finally paid the debt. From the tone of your statement I can only surmise that the "A" in your name refers to Arrogant or Ass take your pick.
- BigA replies to swhollywd| 2 repliesConsidering the links I put up I certainly am not a troll for any debt collector. When you post misinformation it helps no one and can do more damage than good. Now as the the "sales" you said "IHC absolutely sales their debt to IC Systems" The word is sell, you sell something you don't sales it. " Multiple contacts per day or week is one of them. " No, but if you think so, please quote me the exact section of the FDCPA that specifies how many times a DC is allowed to call per day/week. It should be easy since I put the link right there in my other post. You don't even have to go to the trouble of Googling it.
Now this is a different story. " We would discuss the account with an agent, and then hours later another would call on the same account." That would be covered under Section 806 (5).
"The letter was received but the phone calls never stopped," The letter was received but the phone calls never stopped," That would be covered under Section 805 (c)
Now if you want to be vulgar and call me names I guess that is your prerogative, but considering I have twice now given you good, verifiable information and your response is to insult me with obscene words, well I guess that speaks volumes on you, your upbringing, your education, and the type person you are.
I would help you out further but you seem to know it all and obviously would simply insult me again for helping, so have a nice day and most certainly enjoy those calls you get!
