A woman has called twice this week, from 435-893-0167 and 435-893-0169. Both times, Caller ID said "Vision Comm" The woman started by saying she isn't selling anything but is conducting a survey. First call- I said I wasn't interested and she asked if I got their letter. (I don't know, it's junk mail.) She persisted. I asked to be removed from their list and she agreed.

Woman called tonight with exact same opener. I told her I had asked to be taken off their list a few days ago and she acted surprised, then tried to get to her survey again. I got mad, and this call didn't end with a civil "good night" like last time.

We are unlisted, so if they really did send a letter, I wonder if they linked our phone and address from buying phone comany records. I don't know. Just seems very shady to me.

I too keep getting calls from this number...i did a search from another site for this number....the result is the number is from Utah...i do not know is the name it is listed is the current owner if as you say, it is conducting a survey.

Let the machine pick up and no message was left.  I also have the number on do not call list.  I just love this message board.

They called this afternoon about 4:30 PM.  I let the machine pick up and they hung up without leaving a message.  The caller ID read "Vision Comm" but if you follow this link:

you will see that this is one of the phone numbers used by a survey company call KnowledgePanel.  I have my phone on the do-not-call list but in their ad they make a big deal not just of the fact that they obtain their phone numbers by simply dialing at random so even an unlisted number is no defense, but also that when the government created the Do-not-call list, they intended it to control telemarketers but that they deliberately allow survey companies to bypass the list because of the "importance" of research (including "government" research).

They claim that they do not conduct phone surveys but use the phone canvassing to randomly build teams who answer various short surveys on the web for compensation.  Sounds like a crock to me -- even if the phones were dialed randomly, putting together teams of people who not only did not avoid their phone calls but who are willing to have their opinion bought does not  strike me as a random sampling -- the data is already skewed by virtue of the fact that all respondents already have two significant factors in common.  That might not be significant but it seems fishy to me.  Besides, if they were really dialing at random, how is it that several of the calls reported here indicated that they asked for someone by name?  Did they choose the random numbers first and then somehow looked up the owners of those phones?  Like I said -- it sounds fishy.

I recieved a call from this number last Saturday and was very frustrated as I am also on the DO NOT CALL LIST!! They wanted me to survey and I basically told them to remove me from their list and hung up! I recieved another call from them today but didn't answer! It amazes me that they call you out of the blue and expect you to do this for them! Very irritating to say the least! I tried calling them back but they wouldn't answer!

This phone number keeps calling me, nearly on a daily basis, but no one on the other end says anything, and all I can hear is some background noise, like from a televsion, or something, and then hangs up about 5 seconds later.
I looked up the area code and it said it was from Utah, and I live in Utah, so I thought it might be someone I know.  But reading all these comments, I now doubt it is someone I know.
It's most frusterating!

They call my mother-in-law's house several times asking for me and my wife by name. They are obviously not calling at random. I could not find any link on www.knpanel.com. Maybe they took it off because of the previous post.

Caller calls EVERYDAY, sometimes twice a day for last two weeks or so.  I don't answer because I'm not interested...they won't leave a message.  Caller ID says Vision Comm they sometimes call in the afternoon, at dinner time and tonite after 8 p.m.  SO ANNOYING.  You try and ignore them so they get the hint but they keep calling anyway.  Day and night.  It'll be pretty nasty by the time I decide to PICK UP and tell them 'where to go'....

I just got called twice today and no message - I called back and no one answered.

I recieved two calls on 5/28/08 on my cell. First one was a missed call then I answered latter around 8:30. Said her name was "Whitney" and the rest was inaudible. I hope I don't get called again. I'm not sure what kind of scam it is. I won't bother calling back b/c I don't want them hijacking my number or anything like that.

i recieved calls from this number on wed. and again on friday. the number called around 5:15 and 8:30 (central time) on my cell i did not pick up they called twice in the same day. the number is 435-893-0167 it shows the call is from utah. i don't know anyone from that area.

I got a call today by this number and no message was left. I thought I read something about if you are on a DO NOT CALL LIST that you can sue for them calling you. Is this true or does it not apply to survey companies if that is what this is?

two or three times a week they call, now on caller ID has number but listed under is Blocked Name. Never answered but am reporting to the Do Not Call registry.

Same story..this number calls me at least once a day. I tried calling back, but no one answers. I too am on the Do Not Call list.
