    Thanks for posting this.

My mother received the same call from the same number and this guy said his name is Don Wyler and he is and RCMP officer.  He asked for call back.  Unfortunately, this also happened to my brother-in-law's parents earlier this year and when they tried to get money and wouldn't pay from the parents, they threatened to harm the father.  Nothing ever came of it but it did put a scare into them.  Everything had been reported to the police.

Got a call from this number about 10 minutes ago. It was a terrible voip line and on the end was a scammer, "Peter Smith", with a thick accent telling me that there were allegations against me from 3 government agencies. Asked for my number to call me back when I demanded he give me a call-back number. I told him to give me one and I'd call him back.

He didn't ask me for money, but I imagine if I stayed on the line longer, he would have.

Called me, left a message with the number to call. Of course i was immediately suspicious and checked it on internet for scam, thank you people for posting your experience. I called back and asked what was that about, he replied with three allegations. I asked him to send me an official letter so that my lawyer would look into that, he offered to send me an email??? Then I told him that his number is all over the Internet. That was the end of our conversation. My voice had echo, so he was not on the phone.

I received a call from these scammers a week ago. They said there are 3 claims failed against me.
They scared me at first,  but then I realized it was scam. I called Montreal RCMP and they confirm it was scam. Those scammers did not have enough time to threaten me further since I hang up the phone.

Today as I was doing my daily routine, first call from Georgia phone and left no message.  Later not too long a call from Quebec & from this same # called and same person, Const. Weihler? Wyler? ..whatever, said that I have to call back due to a small issue and if no return call received they will pursue the issue.  He doesn't sound like an RCMP and has an accent.  I thought the 2 #s are connected as scams.  I called our local RCMP and said to report to Canada fraud and don't give any info nor bother to call them back.  They are aware of this scam.

    FYI
FRAUD/SCam: If you receive a call from this number, please contact your local police agency or department for clarification and verification.  DO NOT CALL BACK THE NUMBER.

Caller (in a distorted computerized voice with a noticeable southern St Louis droll in the accent) claimed to be Officer **** ***** from the RCMP regarding charges of fraud and id theft and requesting we call him back to address this matter.

The call was directed by name (probably sourced from directory listing) - so it sounded legit.  IT IS NOT!!!!

The RCMP would not call you like this and the voice would be clear and not distorted. In most cases, a local Officer would probably contact you as opposed to one from Montreal.

If you are scared that this might be real, then contact your credit card and bank customer service and contact your local police and home insurance company.
