- Jelly| 2 repliesA gentleman of some unknown accent started breathing over the phone while there was noise in the background. He then proceeded to tell me that Windows users are getting unwanted applications causing their computers to slow down. I immediately told him that I want him to stop calling me and do not try to sell me anything. He kept talking over me and I reiterated my request for no solicitation. He finally said, "Shut up", before I hung up on him. His accent sounded more like middle eastern with cotton balls in his mouth. Isil/Isis?

- Ray replies to LCBSave your time and energy LCB. Those jerks are not in the US. Most of the hardcore scammers are calling from other countries like India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Jamaica, Middle East, and even from Canada and the UK. (No offense intended to those countries.....just the scammers) Tracking down the fraudsters is a little more than doing it here in the states.
It becomes a Government to Government protocol thing and most of those Governments are not exactly cooperative with the USA. (again, not intended for Canada or the UK or all of the good people living in the countries mentioned)
Hows that for covering my ASSets.? - StellaI got the same he was president and would let me go. 439-044-5323. It's not a real number. There are no prefixes that start with '0' and isn't a 439 area code.

- JoraJust got a call from 439-044-5323, at 4:40pm, PST. Caller ID said "Name Unavailable".
Because I don't usually answer numbers that I don't know, I just let it ring. It rang 4 times, then it stopped. I keep my answering machine off my of the time, so I didn't get a message.
I'm glad I came here to see others' experiences. Now I know for sure it was probably a scam of some kind.
Thanks for posting, everyone! :)- Caller: Name Unavailable
- AMCI got a call from them at 5:51pm CT also! They did not leave a message and caller ID said Unknown Name. Glad I came here to check it out! Thank You for your help.
- cs17 replies to Peet| 1 replyWe continue to receive calls from a male with a middle eastern accent. He wants info from us to 'fix' our computers. I just want the phone to stop ringing when he calls. If he gets through,we hang up and say nothing.
- Tamianth replies to cs17Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
