they called but I hung up before they could give me the spiel

I submitted my resume to a post on craigslist and rec'd a call from them today, AIL = American Income Life Insurance, assuming it is a legit business for a CSR Position.  So to those who are adding replies about this phone #, were you by any chance, seeking for a job at the time, is that why they called you?  I'm tempted to call them back but not sure if I should or not.  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance!

I did the same thing only on Monster. The job I applied for had nothing to do with this company.

Yup ~ I posted my resume on Monster.com as well.  She didn't leave a company name on the voicemail, but gave the impression that I submitted a resume directly to them (which I didn't).  American Life showed on my caller id, which made me both curious and hesitant, because there's no way I would want to work insurance.  She talked so fast leaving the message that I knew I had to check it out online first.  Not gonna bother.

I just received a call from this number stating that I had applied directly on careerbuilder and they would like to set me up for an interivew... I don't want to work in the insurance industry so I'm not sure how that happened. Either way I'm not returning the call.

Yeah thats funny that everyone says its for AIL. Because when i called them back they said that the name of the company was Sarcie-Smith. Confusing, probably a scam any company that has multiple aliases sounds fishy.

I receive calls from this number every week...I don't know who they are and do not wish to receive their calls.  How can I get them to leave me alone?

I get a call from this number nearly everyday. I never answer numbers that I cont know but they never leave a voicemail. I wish I could just block the number from my phone.

While AIL isn't directly a scam, it is of scammy nature. Post your resume on any major job site and they'll pester you, along with the likes of Primerica, trying to get you to sell insurance. No matter how many times I tell them no, they still call. They are very persistent.

I received 3 calls from this number today..Didnt answer any of them cause I didnt recognize the number...Thanks for letting me know it wasnt a call telling me that I inherited a milllion dollars from a dead relative...Hahaha

Got a call saying they received my resume. Said she was with SSA of Ohio.

Got the same call from "Melissa" saying she was from SSA of Ohio.  I talked to her and for a quick minute, I thought it was a legitimate job opportunity.  I googled the address she gave me to appear for the interview and American Income Life Insurance pops up.  I have heard of this scam company before.  I am in no way, shape or form interested in selling ANYTHING.  Funny, because on the phone she said there is NO SELLING and the salary is GUARANTEED.  I called her back asking for a web address to go to for further information and no call back.  I'm on to your scam little lady, lol.  Glad I was smart enough to google!!

I recently just did application on monster also, not only did they try to call me but sent email. No I will not sell insurance for them,not a salesman,don't want to be,don't need to be.They keep calling they will be dealt with in any way necessary

Got a call from this number about 20 minutes ago. I'm a college student and all my money is going towards books. I don't have time for this crap. So I just called back and a woman picked up and I'll give it to her that she was polite. She said that they were an Insurance company and she doesn't know why they called me. She said they had 300 people who worked there and it was probably because of my resume. I told her I haven't even been putting one out and to take me off of their call list. If I get another call I'm forwarding it to the cops because I have been getting a call from this number at least three times a week for the past four months and I'm done.

Got a call from this number about 55 minutes ago. I've been laid-off since October of last year and I'm trying to save my money to go towards going to college to get my P&C license, I don't have time for this crap! So I just let it ring and if it's important they'll leave a voicemail, nope! If they're a legitimate Insurance company or Agency, it wouldn't say Unavailable on the caller I.D. and they would most likely leave a voicemail. I have received frequent calls from this number as of late and all the times they have not left a voicemail, were already registered with the national do not call list and if I keep getting calls from this number, I'm forwarding it to the local police.

Left a very quick message, said his name was Eric and that it was urgent that I called him and HR wanted to set up a meeting with me asap. Funny, I've been employed for almost a year and a half. Where did they find my resume? Thankfully I googled the number :)

I answered a call from this number today in the morning and I was told that they worked with unions like firefighters and police officers when there benefits run out or something they didn't make it that clear but it sounded like some kind of union job. The man I talked to was named Lazerus and the name was different than Amercan Life Insurance it was Sacrice-Smith not in the least bit close to American Insurance this company is misrepresenting themselves and should be turned in regardless if they call you back or not. People out here really need jobs and don't need some sham company yanking their chain.
