got a call from this # a few minutes ago...dont these scammers realize that they arent going to get anywhere with this crap?
Actually with the extra numbers, 44 is the Country Code for United Kingdom, then the Phone # is second, I also didn't answer. I tried calling back, but it listed the cell number as not being in service....
Report it to the FCC and FTC. You can easily find the web sites. I called my phone company as well. They suggested filing a police report. Tried *69 to call back; *67 to block... I even tried calling back. If I was smarter I would have gotten more information before I freaked out on the guy. Check out this link for a lawyer who sued for this type of phone abuse: http://www.panix.com/~eck/telemarket.html
Yeah I just got this call on my cell phone asking about car warranty. Pressed 1 to speak to a representative to get my number off their calling list. Guy hung up on me before I could finish my sentence.
Received a cell phone call with automated message and no identifying info, regarding my auto warranty, (I have no warranty). Was given two options 1)speak to an associate 2) disconnect. I was looking for a third: removal of my phone number from their list, so I chose #1 instead and told "Dave" I would report him if he didn't remove my number. He said to give him my phone number, and when I did, he announced he would "now call me all day and all night long". I informed him I was now reporting him (and did) to the FTC and FCC.
I got a call on my cell phone from this # and did not answer. No message was left but I am glad I decided to check online for this. I hate calls like this.
just got this call on my phone...with the two extra digits. i never answered, but i wish i had -- i like screwing with people who are out on the scam. thanks for this board - now I know what I am up against!
I just got a call from the same number. The number looked strange from the start, considering it had 12 digits, so I had enough common sense not to answer it. Didn't know if the extra numbers could be a country-code or what, but I know I wouldn't be receiving calls from outside of the country, especially not from a number I don't already have. Glad I didn't answer it, though, seeing what was said about the car insurance scam. I'm on my mother's insurance still, though I don't live at home any more, so if our actual insurance company was calling, they would have called her house. I figured if it was important, they would leave a message, and they didn't. Oh well.
Got a call from this # too...almost picked up b/c I thought it was an international call because of the two extra numbers at the end. Glad I didn't answer.
I got this phone call today on my cell phone. I was not home and didn't have my cell with me. It got my attention with the 2 extra numbers at the end. I did a Google search and this was the first page that showed up. Is there any place I need to report this number to? (442-074-842277)
