- Patriot327Received a call, from this number, on 10/16/14, at 2:50PM, EDT. Didn't answer, no message left. CID="Out of Area".
- mikeI answered the call, I get a massage from card services that it will be the last time to get an offer to reduce interest rate on my credit cards and I was asked to wait for a friendly customer representative, I hold lady started to talk about cards and interest , I told her I don't even have I credit card and I asked her to take me out of her calling list, the answer was a hang up on me, I tried to call back I get a busy signal.
- BCCalled my landline this morning, Oct 23, about credit card rates. I decided to play with the rep while I waited for coffee to brew. Called the rep and asked the name of her company. She ignored me and continued her scripted sales pitch. I asked again for her company name, and she said something like, "Nice try, but you'll never get off my call list." I called her an unflattering name, and she said, "You can't hurt my feelings." then said something I didn't understand, which may have been in a foreign language. Then she kept talking, but it sounded like she was talking to someone offline. Probably telling her [***] boss to put me on their "call-every-five-minutes list". But this is my bottomline: If they were really an honest company who really could help people with credit card debt, I don't care if they call me. But they are not honest, they are not in business to help anyone but themselves, and they WILL steal your identity, as well as your money.
- Caller: Would not tell me.

- Welshborn| 2 repliesI reported this number to the FCC and FTC this week. Customer Service (what) said when I wanted my number taken off the list that, 'no he wasn't going to do that and he was going to call me every day'. And we are on the do not call registry.

- Tamianth replies to Welshborn| 1 replyConsider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

- DANDIWhenever a call comes in that we do not recognize as one of our regular contacts, we just look at the caller id and ignore.
Later, we go into our Verizon settings and add the number to the call block list. One of the problems that allows people to get scammed by crooks is that one should remember that if you have not entered into any sweepstakes, or applied for any credit, or shopped at any store (whether online, or in person) where you applied for their card or gave your email or phone number, then you are going to be scammed, spammed, and/or conned, for maybe all of the above.
The rule of thumb is that you know whether or not you have requested contact with the number that is calling or not. If it is not family, work, business related, emergency from your doctor or hospital, "Do not pick up" or answer.
When you answer the phone, you are confirming that your phone number is a valid number. When you select the option in an email for them to remove your name from their list, this allows them to remove your name from one of their lists and pass you on to another of their lists or list of associates. In other words, you are setting yourself up for indefinite contact from a multitude of partners. If ignored, eventually they will go away. It may even take up to a year, but eventually they do go away, because your phone number of email is not a prospective investment of their time.
Also, if you allow it to go to voicemail, that too, assures them that your number is valid as you have pick up message on your voicemail. By doing this, you allow them to harass you via voicemail as well, even though this is voicemail, eventually, this will become full and you will not be able to get important messages left in your voicemail. Just ignore the call.- Caller: UNKNOWN NAME
- RoniWhenever I request info from an internet site that requires my phone #, I give my cell phone number but then keep my cell OFF unless I want to make a call from it myself. That way these crazies can call all they want and they never get a response and I don't have to listen to the rings. Now there are a few that have my land line number from long ago and they usually call from some area code I don't even recognize so I don't answer the call (blocking does no good). I love the ones with my area code that also say Out of the Area. They don't get answered either.
- Buggirl| 1 replyGot another call from this number, and the automated message shouting at me about lowering credit cards. I hit the 0 button and left my finger on it for about 20 seconds and when I finally let off, I heard a ringing. Kept ringing for over 3 minutes on speaker phone, while I went about my business thinking "this should be interesting". Finally a woman answered the line and asked me if I was calling to have my credit card lowered- I jumped in and told her my number was on the National Do Not Call List and before I even had a chance to request she update her records and remove my number she hung up on me. I called the FCC and filed a complaint. I went online and found out the number is issuing from an Aberdeen address, but I don't know how to get any other information. According to the FCC man I spoke with this is a scam. I would really like it to stop as it's been going on for months. I answer my phone because I run a small business and get calls from people I want to communicate with. Any suggestions for ways to torment back these sleazy people running these scams???? I'm all ears.
- Buggirl replies to TamianthThank you for posting these additional sites where we can file a complaint.
- LJCAlso received a call from the number just now. We never answer numbers we do not recognize. Based on this thread we will consign this number to our trusty call blocker.
