- not Michael replies to Alison| 1 replyIts a scam. The FDA rarely if ever contacts people who don't work in the Pharmaceutical industry. Also, they rarely if ever invistigate individual purchases from off-shore pharmacies.
Stop answering their calls. If you answer one by accident, hang up on them. You can swear at them and call them dirty names if it makes you feel better. - wilsel replies to not MichaelAccording to the FDA it's a scam. They tell you buying online meds is illegal, and act like they have a criminal investigation against you, BUT you can pay the fine right now to avoid going to court. They just want your credit card/bank info.
- bustagot a call had my laser call and they hung up

- SamI love to mess with these types of calls but this morning my phone rang while I was busy so I let it roll to voicemail. I have only had my current phone number for a couple of years so every once in a while I get a call meant for the previous user of the number. If I answer calls from a suspicious number I always say something to the effect of "Seattle Police Dept" or "FBI - Seattle Field Office". The person on the other end freaks out and that is the end of it. Best to not answer any number you don't recognize and then check this site to see if it is a scam. If it is not legit block the number or save it to your contact list and assign a silent ringer. The FDA, DEA, FBI, IRS, etc. never call people on the phone and they never use email to contact you.
- Caller: Food and Drug Administration
- LBJGot similar call today from agent "John Mason". This is the third time this has happened in the last year. Previous agents were David Justice and Brian Gonzales. Threats galore. $3000 could get me out of this. The DEA has a hot line for especially for this scam - 877 792 2873. They operate out of the Dominican Rep.

- CEarlier today a person named "Special Agent John Mason" called me from this number claiming to be from the Food and Drug Administration. The FDA.. He explained to me that I was under investigation for buying Xanax on a website over the internet. He said about 2 minutes into the conversation that effective immediately there was a warrant out for my arrest in which he was going to be contacting my local authorities to detain me where I was going to be "deported" to the Dominican Republic from which the website was based from to stand trial before a Dominican Republic Judge. I was going to be charged with importation of controlled substances illegally from the D.R. to the United States and the maximum penalty I were to face was 3-5 years in a Dominican Prison. First off, these scam artists are obviously quite ignorant. The only way I could be deported to another country is if I wasn't a citizen of the United States and was living here illegally. So it obviously made no sense when he said I was going to be deported. Secondly, the only way I would be taken down to the Dominican Republic would be through an extradition process where officials from the D.R. would have to come up from their country and detain me and bring me back to The Dominican Republic. The only way that this can happen is if I had committed a crime in the foreign country and managed to flee back to the U.S. Then the United States Federal Government would also have to give their consent. The likely hood of extradition is extraordinarily unlikely unless the crime committed in the Dominican Republic was Murder, Rape or something like kidnapping and I managed to escape back to the United States. Obviously something like buying Xanax over the internet would not render such extreme actions and is silly to even consider. To make 100 percent sure this was a scam I contacted a good family friend who is a district county Judge where I live who contacted the District Attorney's office and sure enough there was no record of any warrant out for me in the county or state I live in as well as no Federal Warrant. I then called Phony Agent John Mason back and explained to him that my friend who is a highly respected Judge was able to find out that there was no arrest warrants anywhere and it was apparent this was all a scam and that he was committing extortion. He hung up!! During the initial phone call I had hung up on him before he could get me to wire money to the Dominican Republic as a part of a plea bargain so that the charges would be dropped but I have read that these frauds have been successful in getting thousands of dollars from people by doing that. Whatever you do if something like this happens to you DO NOT wire money or give them any type of Credit Card Number. It is a complete scan and do not worry it is all a bunch of made up names and agents that are calling you.. It is not the FDA!
